Asami was in the living room of her mansion. It was another day without Korra, yet she was still waiting for the girl. Ever since the two got married less then 7 months ago, they hadn't been away from each other for longer then a day.

However, as of today it had been 3 weeks since she had seen her wife. The heiress was a patient person, and she understood that Korra was needed at times since she was the Avatar after all. But she still, she couldn't help to miss her.

Korra was suppose to be on a task with Bolin and Jinora. There was complaints from the civilians about the spirit portal, so the three went to check it out. Originally, it was suppose to be just Korra and Jinora, but Bolin decided to tag along since he had nothing to do.

Asami couldn't deny that she wanted to go with them. Just like the old days, were it would be Korra, Mako, Bolin and her. In the end, she never asked Korra if she could join them, since she knew that it wouldn't be possible. She was working on a new project which was incredibly important.

Being home alone made Asami feel lonely. She had been like that for the past 3 weeks and the loneliness was growing day by day. The raven haired decided to go visit the temple. She thought of them as her second family, and Pema always insisted on her visiting every now and then.

The boat ride was surprisingly short. Or maybe because Asami was thinking about her wife the whole time.

She came near the temple doors, when she heard a baby cry. Asami identified that the cry of the baby belonged to a girl. Which made her a little confused, since last time she checked, the only young child was Rohan and he was a boy.

After two knocks, Jinora opened the door. Asami was surprised to see her, since she was suppose to be on a mission with Korra. The heiress also saw that small shock on Jinora's face for a split second before she quickly composed herself. "Hey there Asami, what you doing here?"

"I just felt like visiting today since it's pretty boring being alone at the mansion all day. That and I miss Korra." truthfully admitted Asami.

The mention of Korra's name made Jinora show a guilty expression. "A-ah, you can come right in."

Jinora ran off the moment she let Asami in for some reason. The heiress was smart and knew that there was something going on, but she respected their privacy and decided not to dwell into it.

She sat down in the living room, and decided to read a book about the Avatar. She had bought a lot of these types of books, since she wanted to get to know more about Korra. So whenever she goes somewhere, she always brings one of these books in case she gets bored.

"Hello Asami."

Asami stood up and gave Pema a short hug. "Hey Pema. How are you?"

"I'm doing okay, just looking after the kids. Tenzin's been out all day. How are you?" the mother asked.

"I'm good, thank you. I decided to visit since I was feeling lonely. Sorry for coming without telling you beforehand though."

Pema chuckled. "How would you tell me beforehand that you would be coming? I barely leave this island. And don't feel shy, you can come any time you want. Think of this place like your second home."

"Thank you." smiled Asami. "You always know how to cheer me up."

Pema returned the smile. "Stay for dinner?"

"Of course."

[...]

Dinner was in a few hours since it was still quite early. The heiress continued to read her book, when she realised something. Jinora, Ikki and even Meelo kept running around like they were on a duty. They would grab the most random items before darting off.

Asami was getting even more suspicious now when she saw Bolin walk in. The fact that Korra hadn't come home, yet the other people who were with her on the mission have was slightly alarming. "Hello Bolin! How long have you been back?"

"Hey Asami! Great to see you too." the earth bender purposely avoided the question.

"Good to see you too, but I asked you a question."

Bolin nervously scratched his nape. "Oh, what was the question."

"When did you comeback from your mission?" she asked once more.

"I guess I can't keep hiding." he slumped his shoulders. "I think it's been a week? Or a little more then a week."

"Over a week!" repeated Asami with a raised voice. "And you never thought of coming to visit me and tell me about the mission!"

"I've been busy." the next thing he did surprised the girl. He went on his knees and started bowing in front of her. "I'm very sorry Asami, please forgive me."

Temple workers walked past the two and gave them all sorts of looks. Warmth rushed up from Asami's neck to her cheeks and ears. "Get up Bolin, your attracting too much attention." she mumbled.

Bolin also started blushing out of embarrassment when he saw people looking at him. "Sorry about that."

"It's fine, I guess I was overreacting."

"No, no. You have the right to be worried about the mission, after all your wife t-"

Bolin quickly covered his mouth as he realised that he was talking to Asami. He had been told to keep quiet for a while until they had figured out a cure or at least something. And when they meant keep quiet, they meant not telling Asami anything.

Asami raised a brow. "What about my wife? Are you hiding something from me? Actually, speaking about my wife, where is she? You and Jinora have returned but I don't see Korra."

"Well about that.."

His sentence was cut off when a toddler came running into the room, followed by Ikki and Jinora. They froze on the spot when they realised that Asami was there. The one person they didn't want to see.

But you know what shocked them even more? The fact that the toddler ran right into Asami's legs and said something with a double meaning.

"Mummy!"
