Chapter 2
The Train
Once we arrived at the train station, we parked the car and heaved our bags out from the trunk. We had already eaten dinner and packed out things before we arrived at the station, but I still wasn’t sure why we had to take a train instead of a plane or simply driving their. I assumed that it was for the experiences we could live through, as well as the adventures we would have on the smelly steam engine. After I realized that I was being so negative, I tried to change my mood.
“You girls have everything?” Mom asked. Chloe and I both nodded our heads. I quickly made a mental check list in my head. At least, I thought I had everything.
We had already bought our train tickets, and all we had to do was simply wait for our train, which I wasn’t the best at because I was so impatient, but luckily, the train arrived at the station quickly. We boarded and walked down the train to find our cabin number. The floor was a long and thin carpet going along the middle of the carts which was an olive green color and had a gold trim. The cabins were like large boxes in sections of the train, all equipped with a large sliding door which had some of the same olive green painted on them. The cabin numbers were a gold color and nailed to the top of the door. The tiny homes were only on one side of the carts and on the other side was a row of windows so you could watch the view as you moved from cart to cart.
