On September 1st, shortly before 11am, the Malfoy's were standing outside platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Draco got a hug from Narcissa Malfoy and a small nod from Lucius. Chrissy had received a hug from her mother as well, but her father seemed to be ignoring her. She wasn't sure why. Did they know that she would do anything to not be in Slytherin? Did they know she didn't care about blood purity? She had never told them these things, but Chrissy often had the feeling that they knew anyways. Chrissy didn't need to telll them everything. It seemed like her parents just knew these things.

Draco passed through the barrier, followed by Chrissy moments later. When she reached the other side of the barrier, she was in awe. The scarlet steam engine that was the Hogwarts Express looked absolutely magnificent. Draco was no where in sight, so Chrissy assumed that he had already boarded the train. This was good, since she didn't want to sit anywhere near him. Perhaps she could find someone else to sit on the train with. She'd keep an eye out for Luna.

When she boarded the Hogwarts Express, it was almost full of students that were anticipating this next year. Some of the older students that were already sorted had already changed into their robes. Passing by a few compartments, Chrissy eventually came across Luna. She was in a compartment with a Gryffindor girl that appeared to be in the same year as Luna, as well as a Hufflepuff boy whom appeared to be a few years older. Perhaphs fifth year, she assumed.

The door to the compartment was open, and Chrissy popped her head in. "Can I join you?" was her soft question.

"Oh, Chrissy! Come on in!" Luna smiled. "Everyone, this is Chrissy. We met in Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley." Chrissy felt a bit awkward. She never really had a positive introduction to people, as her parents tended to avoid ever bringing her along with them.

Chrissy sat down next to the older boy after putting her luggage on the shelf with that of the others. Jazzy hopped up on to her lap. She glanced from person to person in the compartment. The Hufflepuff boy introduced himself as Cedric Diggory, and the Gryffindor girl introduced herself as Hermione Granger.

"Nice to meet you." replied Chrissy. She was glad that their introductions were friendly.

"So, you're a first year, then?" asked Cedric.

"Yeah. Though, I've learned a lot about Hogwarts ahead of time. I've been reading up, and it tends to be a conversation topic of my brother's quite a bit. He's second year. " replied Chrissy.

"Oh, me too! Well, the reading part anyways." piped up Hermione.

Cedric replied, "That's good. It's always rather helpful to have some background before you experience the magical world for real. What house is your brother in?"

"Slytherin. I don't want to be though. I'd rather be anywhere else, since my parents are always expecting me to be their perfect little Slytherin girl. They'll have to realize that isn't me." responded Chrissy. She sounded determined to stay out of Slytherin house and not have to live up to her family's purist obsession.

Cedric nodded, like he understood. "I wouldn't want to be in Slytherin either."

"What house do you think you'll be in?" Luna inquired.

"I'm not sure. I'm assuming either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. I'm not brave enough for Gryffindor." Chrissy said, somewhat quickly.

"Ah, well, you never know. You could always be brave and just not have found it in you yet." Cedric said. Chrissy nodded. The conversation between the four students continued for quite a while, up until they were interrupted by someone else. It was Draco.

Draco had slid the compartment door back open after Chrissy had closed it earlier. "What are you doing in here?" Draco asked his sister. "You do know Granger's a mudblood, right?"
