While Chrissy was looking out the window, she heard someone come into the dorm room. Her head turned quickly towards the sound. When the person entered, she saw it was a Hufflepuff girl that must have been one of her roommates.

"Oh, hello." said the girl that had walked in. "I'm guessing you're one of my roommates?"

"If this is your room too, then yes." Chrissy stated with a small smile. "I'm Chrissy." she extended her hand out to the girl that had entered in a kind greeting of a handshake.

"Emily." the girl replied kindly, taking Chrissy's extended hand.

"Nice to meet you. Is this owl yours?" asked Chrissy to Emily.

"Nice to meet you too, and yeah, that's my owl." nodded Emily. "Why?" she asked.

"I was wondering if I could borrow your owl. I need to send a letter to my parents so they know what house I got into. It's something that I believe that they would be rather keen to know." Chrissy said. She was one to try and prevent herself from using too big of vocabulary in her conversations, which she could if she desired.

"Oh, sure. No problem." Emily replied. "What do you think, Pippi?" she questioned her owl that was perched next to her bed. Pippi the owl hooted with joy, and seemed rather excited. She flew over to Chrissy, and was given the rolled up parchement that Chrissy had tied with a ribbon. It was addressed to Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy. Pippi flew gracefully out of the window that Chrissy was seated near, and headed off to deliver the letter. The one thing that Chrissy was hopeful about, though, was that Pippi would deliver the letter to her parents before Draco got the word to them.

"Thank you so much!" Emily was thanked by Chrissy. Chrissy's brown eyes were full of glee. She was glad that she was able to prevent Draco from getting the credit for everything. He was always the one that was the favorite child. He was always getting all of the glory. It was difficult for Chrissy. She felt that her family didn't care for her. That was why she never was able to go anywhere with them. They felt that young Chrysanthemum was an embarassement to the family. It wasn't that she misbehaved. She almost never misbehaved. Chrissy wasn't sure what she had done to make them not like her. She was just different from them. Maybe that was why they didn't appear to appreciate their younger child.

Later that night, Chrissy was lying in bed. Her roommates had all gone to sleep at that point as well. She had spoken to each of them at least to the point that she knew their names. There was Emily, whom she met earlier. The other girls were Jolie, Kassidy and Caitir. She didn't know them any better than she knew Emily, though. There was pretty much just introduction between them. Almost no conversation went on. Perhaps that was because one of them realized she was a Malfoy. At first, Chrissy didn't know how Caitir knew, but them she realized that she had noticed her name printed on her trunk, 'Chrysanthemum Malfoy'.

She had said, "I'm going to bed. I don't want to talk to you."

Chrissy asked her why.

"You're a Malfoy." Caitir had said, walking away and heading off to bed.

This was something that upset Chrissy, but she didn't let any of the girls know it. She hated to show weakness. Whenever she showed weakness at home, Draco pounced right on the opportunity to make fun of her, or bully her in some way. It was either physical or verbal bullying and her parents rarely, if ever stepped in. Lucius was a lot less likely to say anything to Draco than Narcissa was. Narcissa always wanted Draco to be a perfect child. Though, it had been so long since Narcissa punished Draco. If anything, Chrissy was punished whenever she got in an argument with Draco, and he wasn't. That had happened just the other day in Diagon Alley, when she stormed off away from him and got confronted by her own mother.

She didn't care if she was a Malfoy. She hated being one. Despite wanting to tell Caitir not to call her Malfoy, Chrissy kept quiet when Caitir walked away. Whenever she told someone not to do something, she was seen as rude by her family. That seemed to have gotten her into the habit of trying not to be seen as rude, even when her family wasn't anywhere nearby.

As she lie there in bed, Chrissy continued to think about her first day at Hogwarts, as well as the days leading up to it. They were quite crazy for her, though she was glad that Hufflepuff was where she ended up after all of it. It was better for her not to be stuck with Draco.

After lying in bed for a while, Chrissy eventually decided that she would go downstairs to the common room. She wouldn't leave the common room, though. She knew that leaving the common room and venturing in the corridors of Hogwarts would get her in a lot of trouble with the caretaker, Mr. Filch. Chrissy had been told this multiple times. It wasn't that she was afraid of Filch himself, but what would result of encountering him in the corridors. She would be bound to get in trouble. Having gotten in trouble often enough at home, Chrissy wouldn't be able to deal with getting in trouble at Hogwarts.

When she went down to the common room, she sat down in a comfortable plush chair in front of the empty fireplace. The fire had been blazing earlier that night, but was now down to ashes that weren't even glowing any more. Chrissy sat there for a while, just thinking about the day's events like she had been when she was up in her dormitory, when she was lying in bed.

After sitting in the chair for a while, deep in thought, Chrissy eventually began to doze off. She had been very exhausted from the day. Then, she began to dream.

In her dream, Chrissy had gotten a reply to her message that she sent out that night. Her parents were completely fine with her being in Hufflepuff, and had even congratulated her. Though, by the time she woke up in the morning, Chrissy knew that none of it had been real. None of it had actually happened. She hadn't gotten a reply from her parents yet, and she was still afraid of what the reply may be from them when she actually received it. Chrissy got goosebumps thinking about it. She then realized she was still in the chair, and decided to head back upstairs to her bed in her dorm. The clock said that it was six minutes past midnight. Rolling over in bed, Chrissy went back to sleep.
