"Its Eyes Were Almost ... Sad." Episode 1

You were heading home to your family in Shiganshina with groceries in hand when you overheard people yelling.

"What are we supposed to do?!"

You looked to your left and saw two men in uniforms. One of the men's faces were drained of color... sweat dripping from his body.

"What do you mean? What's going on?"

"Captain just informed us that wall Shiganshina was just breached! The Titans are flooding in!!!"

"Wall Shiganshina?!" You yelled. "Titans?" The groceries you had in your hands fell to the ground, almost in slow motion.

The two men looked at you, startled by the little girl shaking with fear. The men didn't know how to react. You broke down. Tears streaming down your face. The tears... They were so hot... they burned.

"M-my family is in there!" You start to run towards the gate at full speed. The tears flew from your cheeks... you didn't notice the steam rising above wall Maria. You pushed through the crowd of people shocked at this phenomenon, their mouths wide open.

"Why are people just standing around?! Don't they know that..." you stopped in your tracks. Your heart beat slowed down as a sudden realization hit you.

'Is the ground shaking? It cant be an earthquake. It sounds like... footsteps?' Your eyes widen. 'Don't tell me?'

All of a sudden the wall began to crack... something was pounding on the wall with great force. You were frozen in shock. The screams around you were hard to bear. But what could you do? You were a child. You were weak. You were useless. Everyone around you ran as you stood there in fear. Your body wouldn't move. Why wasn't your body moving? The steam, rocks, and wind knocked you to the ground as the final blow to wall Maria hit. And that's when you saw it. The Armored Titan. It's eyes were... glowing... but... they seemed... almost sad and lonely. He looked straight into your eyes before disappearing. Then your vision became blurry and you couldn't move.

"It's no-not supposed to end like this... I need- t-to s-save my family..."

"P-please"

"It h-hurts so much..." you whimpered

You passed out with hot tears burning down your face. There was a tiny spark of rage that burned within you, waiting to be set aflame. But there was also a sense of grief.

"HEY SISSY!!" Your little brother screamed from across the living room. You noticed a piece of glass stuck in his hand.

"Ben, what the heck happened buddy???" You ran over to him and swooped him up into your arms. Ben was only 3 years old...and he always seemed to get himself into trouble.

"It doesn't even hurt that much! I'm super duper strong like daddy!," he giggled.

"Oh Yeah? Is that so?" You giggle and then sit your brother down on the kitchen counter and start tending to his wound.

"Hey bubba, you know I'll always be here for you right?"

"Yes I do sissy!! Your willy strong almost as strong as daddy!!" You grinned with joy as your brother looked up at you with such innocent and glowing eyes.

"Ow-!" Your brother winced.

"I'm so sorry bud!" You continued to treat his wound when all of a sudden your dad comes into the house.
