"Why'd You Join?" Episode 3

Currently Y/N is panicking as the boy she saw earlier slowly approaches her. But luckily she's pretty good at hiding it.

You, Sasha, Ymir, and Krista are sitting down in a circle while Sasha eats. And lucky you, that boy from earlier is coming right over!

"What are you four out here doing?" The boy asks.

"What does it look like dip shit? We're eating." Ymir says without hesitation. You don't even know what to say. You just sit there in utter shock and confusion.

"Ah well, if I didn't have eyes I guess I wouldn't know now would I?" A cold breeze hits you all of a sudden. Wow. This conversation is definitely not what you were expecting.

"So *nervous laugh* what did you guys come here for?" You point out finger guns hoping to break the ice.

"Well me n' Bert needed some fresh air, it was getting suffocating in the barracks. And you guys just happened to be out here. So, we thought we might introduce ourselves."

"I'm Reiner, and my shadow here is Bertholdt."

Ymir didn't look interested. She seemed distant. But she still went ahead and introduced herself. "I'm Ymir, and this here is Krista." Krista smiled and waved.

And then Sasha began introducing herself, "I um *slurp* I'm Sasha *munch* nice to meet you guys! And next to me is my personal carriage."

"Sasha, I'm not your personal carriage *fake sob* my names Y/N." Reiners eyes seemed to widen when he heard your name. Maybe he knew someone with the same name?

"Personal carriage? Y/N? Same difference."

Krista looked up at you and Sasha. "We definitely all know who you guys are. That was quite an entrance earlier," she smiled and giggled.

"Yeah for sure, definitely didn't expect anyone to have the balls to make fun of the general on their first day like that." Reiner stated as he looked at you and slightly chuckled while covering his mouth.

You chuckled and said,"What can I say? It's hard being the comedic relief!" You threw you hands behind your head and fake yawned.

Sasha laughed and replied,"You got that right!"

"So, why'd you all join the training corps anyways?" Reiner asked.

"Welp for me... I guess I would say it's to serve justice for all the people that died during the fall of wall Maria and Shiganshina. I don't remember if I had a family but... I feel in my heart that if I did have one... their a-all... their all... well g-gone I suppose." You look down at your thumbs... not realizing the tears that were escaping your eyes hitting your hands. You were too afraid to look up. But the other trainees looked worried. Sasha rubbed your back, which helped soothe you.

"Hey... by chance were you there when the walls got breached?" Krista asked. Reiner had a serious look on his face, so did Bert. What was their deal? Did they witness it too?

"Well- ow. I'm not sure. I think I was..." your head began to pound. "But my brain has c-completely shut those memories out of my head. I just remember the feelings and the s-screams. Sometimes I have dreams about those memories but when I wake up I seem to forget them."

"That must be really hard..." Bertholdt exclaimed.

"I suppose..." you give a half smile and then look at Reiner. He still looks fine on the outside... but just what is wrong? His eyes... their so... heartbrea-

"So are we just gonna sit here? Or are we gonna go to our barracks? I'm pretty sure it's almost curfew." Ymir snarled.

"Yeah it's pretty late, let's get going." Bert suggested. Reiner agreed and he waved you all goodbye. But you felt like his eyes were staggering towards you. Could he tell that you could see through him? They both left towards their barracks while Krista, Ymir, and Sasha cleaned up and headed back as well.
