Hey, hey, hey! I'm here! Yeah, I've been gone for a while, but here's an update to make up for at least something. A handful wanted a part 2 to the hunter chapter, so here it is! :)
------------Jef sat near the window, staring into nothingness. His finger twirling around vines that roamed nearby. The orange clothed boy seemed to be anticipating the arrival of someone he had been told would never come back. He didn't want to put down his hope, but seeming as it had been 2 months, he was starting to consider it.
His assistant, a black cat named Bert, was currently out assisting Jef's sister. He wasn't told what for, but that she needed help doing whatever it was she was going to do. This meant that Jef had the entire house to himself.
His arm had begun to get tired, so he stopped twirling the vine he had been meddling around with. Sighing, he had no clue how the Hunter boy he had interacted with all those days ago had such an impact on him. All he did was caress his hair as if it were the most fragile thing in the world, allowing Jef to feel safe in ways he couldn't even begin to describe. As said "Prince of the Pumpkins," he had no time to question himself on things such as "sexualities" or "affection towards others." Heck, he didn't even realize how touch starved he had been until the seafoam other had come and massaged his fluffy bundle of hair.
His face lit up in the dark just thinking about it. Was he falling for a man he'd barely met?
The brunette sighed, getting up from his seat and heading out of the door, not even bothering to find a jacket. He needed a breather, and nothing would get in the way of him recollecting his thoughts.
Sprinting between every redwood tree, he darted towards a place he knew far too well; the ocean.
It was about one in the morning, no one would be out at this time, right? Only crazy insomniacs are out at such hours. Jef wouldn't take them for granted, though, they all have their explanations for being who they are. He wouldn't go against them.
The boy's legs soon begun to tire out, as he had been sprinting for a good while, and it was far longer than he would normally sprint.
He panted softly, trying to catch his breath once more. To him, though, the beating of his heart and his own breathing was loud enough for him to not notice the crunch of a twig from his left. Patting himself on the cheeks, he started to walk towards his destination.
Unfortunately for him, though, his vines would not be cooperating the way he would've liked them to, stringing and attaching themselves onto trees, and, against his will, thorn bushes. What sucked the most was the fact that the bigger vines would all head towards the bushes, while the thinner ones would go for any object besides that. The vines being part of him, each thorn poke and scratch injured the boy in the process.
Of course, it hurt like hell. He tugged and pulled on the vines, but it would only result in bigger pains. He eventually gave up, reluctantly accepting defeat. He cursed himself for being so stupid for choosing this path, but he was still in a burning sensation as his vines ever so slightly bled. Tears that Jef hadn't even realize were threatening to spill silently raced down his cheeks, leaving wet lines, evidence of their paths showing clearly.
A rustling from behind him put him on edge, whipping his head at a rate fast enough for more pain, and even bigger tears as his vision blurred an image that he couldn't forget.
His eyes widened at the sight of who stood in front of him.
"B-lue boy?" Jef stuttered.
"Hey there, pretty princey, what's with the tears?" The other spoke, his gaze softening after seeing the situation the other was in.
