Author's Note : Hey everyone I'm delighted to see the positivity and feedback I'm receiving regarding the story. However, the chapter's have been tedious for me to write in terms of style so I am going to do an experiment this chapter and see if you guys are fine with this style of writing as I feel more comfortable with it, and believe that I can push out more chapters writing this way. Along with this I also ask for your sincere patience with this story too as I am also in the process of writing another Male Reader story that I plan on publishing sometime over the course of the next few months. Again I would really appreciate feedback on this new style I plan on writing in and I hope you all continue to enjoy this story as much I have writing it for everyone. Thank You and enjoy the chapter.________________________________________________________________________________
Y/N's P.O.V
(Warmth, something that I haven't felt in so long until now)
I awoke in the morning in the arms of the brunette that held me to sleep last night. Tifa...that's right. Last night we opened up to each other about our past, something that has clearly haunted the both of us. Maybe its for the best that the things that happened to me with the peerage took its course, otherwise, I wouldn't have met her and she'd probably still be grieving right now with no one to hold on to. "She's a strong one though I'll give it to her, the way she carries herself...I can only hope to be like that someday." I looked to the left of the table to check what the time was on the clock and saw that it was 10:06 A.M. "Well better get up and get ready for the day." As I lifted myself up from Tifa's embrace to go use the bathroom I felt a hand tug at my shirt. "Y/N...please just a little longer..." I couldn't tell whether she was asleep or if she was awake and just conclude that she was somewhere in between. Frankly that wasn't even what was on my mind because she just seemed all to adorable in this moment. "I would but we have to get up. Remember we have someplace to be today?" The only response I got from her was a little moan and grumble. "mmmmm...". "Tifa? Anyone home?" No answer. "Fine. Guess I'll have to bust out the old trick I used to do with Akeno." I then poked Tifa's soft cheek before seeing her face go red as she shot up from the bed, wearing a flustered expression. "W-w-w-what are doing?!". "Waking you up obviously. Plus don't act all embarrassed about that. You kissed me in a dark alleyway. Think of it as payback." I finish that sentence with a smirk on my face before realizing that I was going to have to face the almighyt wrath of a morning Tifa. "B-b-baka!" SLAP
Tifa did eventually get up and we both had a light breakfast before getting dressed and making our way to the old Integrity Knights HQ. "*rubs cheek* Jeez you didn't have to smack me that hard." "Hmph...you deserved it." Tifa said with a pout on her face. "Did I though? Did I really?" I retorted back at her with an expression mixed with sheer confusion and frustration. The combination of these two expression only caused Tifa to laugh at the ordeal. "You're really are dense sometimes you know that?" " That's what my gir-ex girlfriend used to say to me quite often now that I think about it." That's right...my ex-girlfriend. I would be lying if I said my heart doesn't ache whenever I think back to that dreadful day with the only thoughts coming to my mind about whether I should've punished her on the spot for it or if I did the right thing and walk away from the situation and act like nothing happened. Those were the only thoughts going through my head and Tifa could tell by the expression on my face that it was clearly eating my up on the inside. "Hey Y/N is everything alright?" "Huh oh yeah I'm just...lamenting on the past." "I see...but please don't let those thoughts eat you up, you know I'll always be here if you need someone to talk to." "Thanks Tifa."
We made our way a few blocks down until we eventually came across a large, and abandoned chateau which looked as if nature had taken its course on the structure of the building. "We're here." As Tifa stated, the designation number was correct as I looked up and saw the building number read 871. Before we stepped inside Tifa grabbed my arm rather frantically and looked into my onyx orbs. "Promise me Y/N, whatever is inside of there you'll be able to face it and accept it." I didn't really know what she was referring to because most of what she had been saying seemed suspicious...Almost like she had a sense of what I was going to witness in there. Nonetheless we made our way inside and saw old records left on tables and books thrown across the ground. "Might as well do some investigating while we're at it." Tifa and I started to search around the upper and lower floors of the headquarters, each of us coming across notes and different miscellanies scattered around. I then came across one note tucked away into a page of a book left behind. I opened the book and flipped to the page where...once again...I saw it...That damned prophecy again.
