The first time you met Jungkook, he was rushing out of the apartment building you were scrambling into while trying to get out of the rain. His shoulder brushed your own that was soaked with your drenched sweater clinging to your body, and it only took him a second to turn and apologize while pushing his black, wavy hair from his eyes. Shivering, you assured him it's fine, it happens, and suddenly he wasn't in such a hurry anymore.
In the moment you felt the electricity between the two of you, and even more so when you stared into his dark eyes. There was something curious and hypnotizing about him as he flashed a grin and apologized once again. Maybe even magical, the thought popped into your mind, but you pushed it away until the next time you ran into him.
It didn't take you long to realize there was something special about him. Other than the way he made your heart flutter when he looked at you, you felt an aura from him you've never felt with anyone before. It was magnetic, drawing you to him and causing you to feel at ease in his presence.
Which doesn't come easy for your kind. You were born a fairy, living in a humble cottage in a faraway woodland village with your larger than average, yet somehow still so small family, away from strangers, and humans, and any other creature that wished to do you harm. You remember all the stories your parents told you about how you shouldn't trust anyone, how to keep yourself closed off and only rely on your own frollick of fairies you were close to.
They tried their best to warn you and your brothers and sisters, but it was no use. You wanted something better, something bigger. So you set out on your own, venturing off from the safety of the forest and the protection of your family's magic to meet humans in the first city you could find. Come to find out, humans weren't so bad. Well, most of them. There were times you might have cast a bad luck charm on someone that was rude and pushy, but you convinced yourself they deserved it. It will wear off after a while, you told yourself, and then went on about your fairy business.
Which, in the city, meant working full time at a corner bookstore to pay rent on a small apartment, but fairies didn't need much room anyway. It was exciting, and you felt adventurous seeing how big the world actually was. Most of your parents warnings never even crossed your mind.
That was, until you met Jungkook. At first he seemed innocent enough, of course. He was always friendly, made sure to say hello, and one late night even helped you carry a brown paper bag of groceries up to the fifth floor where you lived. You told him it was fine, you were stronger than you looked, but he insisted. Part of you wanted to believe he was just being nice, but his charming aura, always so kind and funny, began to tell you something different.
After a while the electricity you felt between the two of you became stronger. You just knew there was something more to him. After all, you have your heightened senses thanks to being a magical being yourself. You were positive there was something you were missing, but how could you guess when he only ever appeared as the kind and polite boy that lived one floor lower than you.
"How was work?"
You spot him on your way in one night. It's beginning to storm again and you're shivering as you make your way to the elevator, standing next to him as he grins and pushes his hair from his eyes. One side is already tucked behind his ear, giving you a view of a few piercings with just as black jewelry in each one. You've never noticed them before, but you guess there's a lot left to find out about Jungkook.
"Boring, as usual," you tell him with a grin, reaching to press the elevator button a few more times due to it taking forever. Sometimes it just needs a reminder there are residents actually waiting on the old, nearly broken thing. "Don't get too many customers to bookstores these days, so it's mostly just tidying up and arranging new displays to try and draw attention."
