She moved her shirt up slightly and criss-crossing all across her ribs, were pair after pair of initials and a ton of other scars, including burns. "I've got more. All over. The first time he ever went after me... I couldn't speak for a week straight from the pain it caused me to talk." She said and he looked at her, shaking his head, unsure of what she meant by it.
"The worst things that he did... he cut my vocal cords, as if he wanted me to feel the most pain that is possible for a human to feel. Which is why I've got this." She turned her head and he saw that there was a voice box that he recognized the handiwork on it.
"Did Bruce... make that for you?" He asked and she looked at him and nods a little, as she leaned back against the wall again.
"I couldn't talk. It took me years to figure out how to make this work and I know that my voice won't work with no box, and it... I just wanted to kill him." She whispered quietly and he'd look at her with a raised eyebrow. "In there. I spy an open door." He said, as he points, and they both looked at the wide open back-door to Coryo.
"I need a drink." Malia murmured and he chuckled at her words, as he held out a hand and she got up really quick, following him into Coryo.
Jason managed to swipe her another person's drink, which Malia King, she quickly downed before anybody was able to notice.
Then, just as both Jason and Malia were readying for a fight that Jason had started to no one's surprise, an explosion rocked the speakeasy and all three of them hit the ground.
"Dick, hold up!" Malia tried, but Dick had already bolted off yet again. "Well it looks like we have got to go after his sorry ass... again." She said, as he was nodding slightly.
"Let's get going." He said and she chuckled, as she held up the keys that she had swiped off the guy, who was trying to kick Jason's ass earlier. "You know... I think that we would've made a good team back in Gotham if we had known each other back then." He said as after they had retrieved their suits, she was driving off, at an absolutely insane speed.
"We have a job to do now. So do me a favor and don't laugh at how bad I am at this shit." She said, and he looked at her, shaking his head.
"Why would I ever laugh at you?" He asked and she sighed, slammin' on the gas pedal to avoid the police again, as they drifted easily through traffic and he looked at her. "Hey, I am serious."
She managed to lose what must've been every damn cop in Milwaukee and they both got out of the car, and she tossed the keys into the ignition.
"I'm the defense. I know certain things and that makes me useful in some ways. But in other ways... I can't help for shit." She said and he looks at her.
"Something tells me, that you're not just talking about fighting anymore. I am gonna take a wild guess and say it out loud, that you aren't a huge fan of people in general." He said and she'd sigh.
"Am I?" Her voice box crackled loudly and she winced, shuddering, as agony ripped through her ruined vocal cords and she winces again. "That obvious?"
Jason sighed at her, as he shakes his head at her. "Look, you can stay in the car if you want. This guy... he literally uses acid to melt the flesh off bones. I don't want you getting hurt." He said, and she scoffed.
"I wouldn't worry about that Jason Todd, though I appreciate all the good and sentimental shit. Let's go." She said and he sighed, as they walk into the building and Malia slid her mask on over her eyes.
