Hello everyone, I am back with a new story. Thanks to all for voting and commenting on the previous story.
Just a warning, I have learned Physics only in my 9th and 10th standard, after that my only connection to Quantum Physics was when Sheldon Cooper used to do complicated formulas, and I didn't understand a thing, so please forgive me for all the blunders.
I wanted to write a college romance, but I wanted it to have a Professor. At first I thought of having romance between two Professors and I couldn't come up with a single scene, so I decided to go with Professor and student, but I didn't want the Professor to fall in love with a student, so this is the story I came up with.
Abhishek sat with his grandmother as he listened to her talk to her old friend about old times. He turns to look at Pragya and sees her sitting with her head down but he knew she was listening to their grandmothers' talk because he had seen her chuckle couple of times. As if sensing him looking at her, she looks up at him and the moment their eyes locked, he smiles at her and she smiles back.
"Daljit, we have been talking all this while and the people that should be talking are simply sitting here silently." Pragya's dadi says laughing.
Abhishek's dadi turns to look at him and smiling she tells him, "Why don't you and Pragya, go out for a walk?"
Abhishek nods and looks at Pragya, and sees her looking at him.
"Go, Pragya." Pragya's grandmother gently pushes her.
They were walking out wondering what to talk. Finally, Abhishek decides to initiate the conversation.
"I was surprised when Dadi told me about this proposal." Abhishek tells her.
"Why?" Pragya asks as she turned to look at him.
Abhishek chuckles, "Actually, not like that. Out of the blue, she asked me about marriage and I told her that I feel I am ready, and she just whips out her mobile and shows me your photo. And two days later, I am here."
Pragya smiles hearing that.
"It's just you and dadi, right?" Pragya asks him.
"Yeah. I lost my parents when I was small. I don't really remember them. Dadi raised me. I am what I am is because of her. Dadi is my world."
"Is that why you decided to see Dadi's old friend's granddaughter?" Pragya asks curiously.
Abhishek gives her a side glance and tells her, "I told you, I saw your photo."
Pragya blushes hearing that. Abhishek smiles seeing her blush.
They were silent for a few minutes, then Abhishek tells her. "I am a middle class man. I love my grandmother. I love my job. That is me."
"Even for me, it is only dadi." Pragya tells him.
"But I thought your mother was still..." Abhishek stops in confusion.
Pragya hesitantly looks at him for a few seconds then looking away she whispers "I am not on talking terms with her."
Abhi was shocked hearing that but he simply nods as he thought about it.
Seeing that he didn't ask anything on that, Pragya curiously asks him, "You didn't ask anything about that."
"I thought you would tell me if you want me to know." Abhishek tells her.
Pragya looks away and tells him, "I am not comfortable talking about it."
"Okay."
"Okay? that's it?" Pragya asks surprised.
