"I'm pregnant" the small woman repeated, looking afraid of Louis reaction.

He couldn't say anything, still in shock.

"Please take a seat" He whispered and held his hand in the direction of a black chair, standing in front of his desk. He looked outside of his office, through the huge windows on the sides of his room. He spotted the Themes and slowly reminded himself that his office is on the 45th floor of the building. He directed his attention back to the woman, who was now sitting right in front of him.

"I'm really sorry Mr. Tomlinson" she starts to explain. "I know it for two months and i really wanted to tell you before, but the circumstances with your sister were just so-" she starts to panic. Before she could say anything more she was interrupted by Louis.

"Yes I know" he says sharply "I understand why you thought you should act the way you did, Lydia. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy for you and Ryan, you are a lovely couple. Its just the timing that's bad. You know i have to leave London for a meeting, on Wednesday. This is nearly in 6 days, how should i find a new assistant in this short period of time? Or do you still want to accompanying me in New York? I guess not." he lays his head in his head.

"Your law firm is one of the most known ones, Mr. Tomlinson. I don't think it will be hard to find a PA in the next few days. I promise to help you with the applications and job interviews." She reaches for his hand and touches him softly.

"You were never just my Boss, Louis. You were a very good friend for me, and i know its hard for you right now. But I'll try my best to find someone that's almost as good is me, because being better than me is simply not possible." she giggles and tries to make Louis smile.

And somehow it worked. He looked up and gave her a small smile, it was a real one.

"Then what are you waiting for" he says, in a polite and friendly tone. Lydia jumps up from the chair and walks towards the door.

"I will not disappoint you!" she says as she closes the door behind her.

Louis lets out a loud sigh, "Great" he thinks, that's just great.

Three hours later he finds himself leaning at Lydias desk, listening to her soft voice.

"Okay so, the announcement was really short-term, but there are still 7 applications. I sorted them by Names. I already have a favorite, but of course i won't tell you who it is. I thought i could talk to them first, select the three i like the most, and then sent them for their final talk into your office. O-Or you could just talk to all of them? I-I just thought it would be less work for you if i talked to them first.." Louis could see how nervous Lydia was, her hands shaking as he grabbed the applications she was holding in her tiny hands.

"Thank you, dear" he said with a warm smile. Even if he felt like a cold mess inside and wanted to cry and run through the door of his office and lock it, he remained calm and professional and continued the talk with his assistant.

He smiled as much as possible, holding the tears back that were forming in his eyes, as he saw the framed picture of Lydia, her boyfriend and her parents. They look so proud and smiled warm at Lydia. Her boyfriend has his hand laid on her stomach and looks her in the eyes. They seem so happy, he thought.

He would give everything to experience this kind of feeling.

"When will they arrive tomorrow? I already told Niall I'll play golf with him

"When will they arrive tomorrow? I already told Niall I'll play golf with him." he said, looking away from to picture, wiping a tear away and focusing on Lydias planner that was laying on her desk. He spotted a few post-its with thousands of handwritten notes.

"At 10 o'clock. We should be done by 14, and you can go to your golf session with Mr. Horan at 15, like it was planned." She smiles, somehow proud of herself that she didn't even had to look the time, Louis wanted to meet Niall, but had it all in her mind.

"Thank you, Lydia" He looks down at his cellphone. "Its 17:30, you can go home." He pushes himself off her desk and turned around for a last time

"See you tomorrow at 9" he said, walking straight to his office door.

"Goodbye Mr. Tomlinson, I see you tomorrow", that's the last thing he heard before shutting the door and collapsing on the floor.

He buried his face in this hands and tries to hold the tears back, but it was too late. He was sobbing, leaning on his door and looking straight out of the window in the sky.

There weren't any clouds, and sun sun started to set. the sky was painted in the brightest colors he has ever seen, the purple light floating his office. How did he become this mess? He asked himself.

After his mother died, he did everything to make her proud. He finished his law studies with honors and founded the company "Tomlinson Consults", short "T.C.". before he knew he was one of the richest and powerful man in England.

With 27 years he achieved everything he dreamed of when he was a small bean.

He always wanted to take care of his family, work hard to surprise them with gifts every day. In his head, pictures of Fizzy and his mum, smiling warm at him are repeating over and over again. He had the life he always wished for.

But he was alone.

Without his mother and his sister.

He didn't know the name of his father or where he could possibly be, but he didn't care at all. He left them when Louis was one year old, and he never tried to reach out for him.

A half hour later his office was dark, the sun was set and he had finally build enough courage to stand up from the floor. He walked over to the small table next to his desk and started to pour himself some Whisky in a glass. He grabbed it, and sat down on his big, black leather chair, looking at the applications in front of him.

This is going to be a long night.
