The snow was falling onto my face as I lay on the hill patiently waiting for something exciting to happen. It was cold but not as cold as the snow at home. By 'home' I mean Hogwarts. Hogwarts was my home and nobody can tell me differently. That's where my life is, all my friends were there however I saw them as more of a family. As I sat up in the snow an owl dropped a letter into my hands. I read the name Miss Hermione Jean Granger, 3 Carlingford Road, Hampstead, London, NW3 1RY. I decided to open the letter after my supper which was probably ready by now. I stand up on the slippy snow and ice and attempt to make my way down the hill back through the gate of my back garden.

As I step through the door I am greeted with Harry and Ron. "Oh my god" I say hugging them both tightly. "What are you doing here?". "We thought we would try and spend some time together before the Christmas break is over" says Ron with a smirk on his face and Harry nods to say he's right. My mother walks into the room and greets Harry and Ron with the biggest hug. She was obviously excited to see some new faces around here. Especially after my dad passed a couple months ago. It's been hard trying to juggle my homework, studying and looking after mum since he's been gone. God knows what she'll do when I go back to hogwarts. "How about a nice chinese tonight?" mum says, hardly containing her excitement. "Oh please" says Ron who is clearly starving. "But what about the supper in the oven mother?" i say confusedly. She just waves her hand as if to say oh well. "Quickly go on up and grab your coats, we'll leave in about half an hour". Me, Harry and Ron run up the stairs so quickly next door must think there's a herd of elephants.

I close the bedroom door behind us and put a noise cancelling charm on the door so my mother cannot hear what i am about to say. "I got a letter" I say with no hesitation. "From who?" says Harry with an obvious look of confusion on his face. Before answering I thought about who it could actually be from. Could it be from Dean? Or Cedric? Who knows. "I'm not sure to be honest" I say with fear in my voice. I wasn't sure what to expect when opening it to be honest. Both Cedric and Dean confessed their love to me before I left for Christmas break. "Well go on then, open it" says Ron who is getting impatient watching me stare at the letter. I started to peel off the wax melt on the back which didn't have a specific logo, so I knew it wasn't from hogwarts. Which meant it must be from one of the boys. Once I had peeled off the wax melt I pulled out the letter which was beautiful. It was a creamy color with a beautiful green detailing around the edges. It was like the paper you would imagine royalty to be using. I start to read the opening sentence of the letter and it says 'Dear H'. "Oh my god, no no no" I say instantly knowing who the letter is from. "Well? Who is it from?" Harry asks with a concerned look on his face. "Come on boys and girls, time to go" I hear my mother shout from the bottom of the stairs. "Go on" I say, "I'll be down in a moment. Harry and Ron leave the room without hesitation and leave me to sit on the edge of the bed in utter shock.

Lots of different emotions are going through my head right now - anger, fear and most of all excitement. I slip the letter underneath my pillow, grab my phone and run down the stairs to see everyone already in the car waiting for me. I get in the back because Ron already shotgunned the front seat by the looks of it. "You alright honey?" my mother asks. "Of course, why wouldn't I be?" i say wondering whether harry or ron had told her about the letter. I look over at Harry and give him a look as if to ask if he said anything and he shook his head. I trusted them not too anyway. They were like my brothers.
