*beep* *beep* *beep*. I wake up to the sound of my alarm. I immediately run out of bed and down the hall and knock on the spare room door. Ron answers the door still half asleep. "Come on guys! Today is the day!" i say not being able to hide how excited i was to get back to Hogwarts. I run downstairs to see my mum had made us pancakes with porridge and my favourite, pumpkin juice with a 1/4 lemon and a splash of almond milk. my mum tries her hardest to make non-muggle foods now that dad isn't around to, he used to make me pumpkin juice every morning, without fail so now she tries to do the same. about ten minutes later Harry and Ron wander down the stairs like zombies, obviously still half asleep. although I don't blame them, we did stay up quite late playing wizard chess. By the time they sit at the breakfast table I'm ready to go upstairs and get my stuff ready.I run up the stairs and into my room closing the door behind me. I sit on my bed thinking about all the opportunities I have this year at Hogwarts like trying out for the quidditch team or joining the potions club because after all it is my aspiration to become a potions master. but then I begin to wonder what will happen with Cedric and Dean. will they feel the same way towards me that they did before Christmas break? will they have moved on? who knows but my main goal is to get the grade I want in potions in order to become a potion master. in the corner of my eye I see the letter tucked slightly under my pillow, I try not to think about it but its driving me mad not knowing what it says, I decide to read it another time. under my desk was my case with all my robes, books and non uniform clothes in that I packed well in advance to leaving. I stroke my hand across the top of it remembering all the memories I have made in the past three years at Hogwarts like when we went into the chamber of secrets or when we found out our teacher was a werewolf. I get quite emotional thinking of what I will do when the time to leave Hogwarts for good will be like.
"Hermione! are you ready dear?" I hear my mum shout from downstairs. I quickly throw on my jeans and jumper grab my case and put my wand into my boot like I always do when I leave the house. I come downstairs to find harry standing there with a box. "what's this?" I say with a confused look on my face. "open it" he says smiling at me. I take the box and undo the perfectly tied red ribbon and pull the lid off. there is lots of tissue paper but eventually I come to another little box. I look at Harry with confusion as I find there's another box inside that one. I finally get to a little red velvet bag, and inside the bag I discover a ring. a beautiful one as well. it was gold with a red ruby in the centre and had beautiful detailing around the ruby to make it look like a rose. "it's beautiful" I say speechless of what to say. "so you like it?" harry says scared that I don't like it due to the silence. "of course! I love it!" I say jumping up and hugging him. "thank you so much Harry, I really don't know what I did to deserve a friend like you".
