THERE WERE A BILLION OTHER
PLACES ZARA WISHED TO BE AT AND
THE SALVATORE MANSION WASN'T IT.
And it was because Elana Gilbert was there.

The girl was making Zara more annoyed than she already was before she saw her walk into the border house. Elana had came to the border house to spend the night because if she stayed at her home her hunter of a brother would have killed her. Not that Zara minded.

Standing up from her spot on the couch, Zara pauses as she gets up and followed Damon to the door. There on the other side was her. carrying her luggage. She walks in the house. Stefan walks out of the parlor and they look at each other.

Zara could feel the awkward tension and she
knew Damon could feel it too. She couldn't help
the small grin appearing on her pump lips as she looked between the two ex's. She knew it wasn't funny because Stefans hurting, but she warned
him from the second she stepped foot in Mystic Falls.

But of course he didn't listen.

"I can't stay at home anymore." Elana confirms.
Stefan nods.

"Pick a room. I'll crash somewhere else." Stefan told the brunette. Stefan walks out of the house. Elena, Zara and Damon watch him leave.

"And you couldn't stay at one of your friends houses?" Zara asks looking at the Gilbert girl annoyed. Elana frowns giving the girl a glare
with her eyes, Damon sighs. Knowing that
things were gonna turn west.

LATER ON AFTER CHANGING FROM
HER JEANS TO A CASUAL DRESS THE SIREN WAS DOWNSTAIRS IN THE PALOR.
Where Elana and Damon were.

Damon walks over to her and hands her a drink. Handing Elana one as well.

"Thank you." Elana says. Elena takes a drink. Damon sits down next to Zara who thanks him by pressing a gentle kiss to the cheek.

Unnoticed from them that Elana was glaring daggers at Zara, her hand squeezing the glass that Damon just gave her.

"I was being polite. I thought you hated whiskey." Damon said towards Elana, giving Zara a smile.
loving the kiss that he got from her. Even if it was
on the cheek.

"My brother wants to kill me." Elana stated.

"Obviously." Zara muttered in her glass knowing that they could hear her.

"Welcome to the club." Damon says, hiding the small smirk that was waiting to appear from Zara's sarcastic comment. Giving the Harrison's thigh a small pinch.

Damon holds his glass out to Elana and she clinks
her glass against his. They both drink.

"Jeremy can't live with me, Stefan wants to fix me, and Caroline flat-out admitted that she doesn't like me this way. I think it's safe to say that I'm not so great at this vampire thing." Elana said bluntly.

"I agree." Zara said sitting up a little next to Damon. Elana and Damon look at her. "I mean.
You being a vampire has changed everything. You're everywhere, like a fly. I think I liked it better when you were just a pathetic human who needed both Salvatores to come at her aid." Zara pauses. "But—"

"But what?" Elana questions with a brow raised. She felt rage bubble in the pit of her stomach.

"But, unlike you're friends. I'm not gonna Judge you, it's not up to them to decide rather or not your good human or vampire. It's you're choice. Do you want to be a vampire? Or do you want to be human?" Zara looks at Elana.
