Chapter 5 - Ich spreche kein Deutsch.

"What are you talking about ? Germany ? Why are you guys going to Germany? " I asked looking at the people infront of me that I call mother and father. Some parents, while they get to go to Europe and have fun I've to stay here in boring old California.

"Honey , your dad received an invitation by his boss to go to an expedition over in Berlin for his work. I'm going with him to support him and because there's only two tickets. " Mother explained nonchalantly while fixing her skirt and looking at her phone.

"We wanted you to come but since school is more important and your in your senior year, we decided against it. we love you kid but that's final. " Dad babbled on, taking mothers hand and kissing it.

He's such a cutie. Well I guess it's not all that bad. I mean now I can get away with stuff and have the house to myself. Wait I am staying alone right?

"So I'll be alone in the house for two months then ? which is perfectly fine and I'm completely capable of doing so, I mean I'm 17 for gods sake " I said staring at them with pleading eyes.

"Honey of course not. Would you really think we'd leave you all alone for two months. We're not that bad as parents." Mother stammered sipping her coffee.

"We have it all planned darling, so you are going to be staying with my boss's family for the time being. They have a lovely big house that I'm sure you'd love oh and they have a swimming pool. " Dad explained excitely , his eyes the size of saucers.

"Oh my gosh really. A mansion like ? That's so cool. Wait what's his family like ? " I said thinking of the possibilities of what my room would look like.

"Well honey, he has a great family , wife and 2 sons. oh and I think they go to your school so it's perfect. " He said smiling a little too hard for my liking.

"Oh ok." I said. Wait. 2 sons and there in my school. Oh I hope they're good looking and really friendly. This is going to be so cool. I hope so.

"Great. Your mother and I leave on Friday, so since we have 3 days until then, we thought it'd be a good idea to have them over for dinner so you get to know them better. " dad explained to me.

"Yeah ok sure. Well gotta go, homework and stuff." I snapped leaving the room quickly. What if they're complete weirdos? What if they're like 12? What if they're too good looking and I'll look like the ugly duckling.

I think I'm going to faint.
