Harry's POV
The next day Percy seemed perfectly fine. He carried himself with the same confidence and carfree leadership. After yesterday's little episode Malfoy, the blond girl, Luna, and the goth boy stuck to him like glue. He acted like he was fine but I knew he wasn't. Yesterday I realized I felt the same way. But of course, I didn't know that many dead people. If you looked into Perseus' eyes you could see he was still broken. I decided to give him a second chance. Why? I once heard a quote that went like this. "bravery is the capacity to perform even when scared half to death." Last night I realized that Percy's funny careless personality was just a facade. Honestly, I felt like a jerk. My ego had been becoming kind of big and I was being plain arrogant. During lunch, I walked up to Percy and apologized.
"Hey Percy, I'm sorry how I acted. I just got caught up in the fame I guess."
"Listen, Harry, I don't want your pity just because of last night, but if you really want to be friends I'd be more than happy."
I smiled. And shook his hand.
------Time skip all the way to Christmas break because why not------
Percy's POV
Me and Annabeth had gone back to camp for Christmas break. There was a light layer of snow but the beach wasn't covered. I had asked her to meet me there for a date. And honestly. I was nervous as hades. I saw Annabeth walk towards me. She was beautiful.
"Why hello Wise Girl, care to join me for an underwater picnic?"
She laughed her beautiful, sweet, honey laugh. "Why yes kind sir."
I brought her down the bottom of the lake and made a dome of air right where we had our underwater kiss. (a/n) I accidentally put kids instead of kiss earlier) I sat her down and we started to talk. Well, here goes nothing.
"Hey Wise girl?"
"Mmmmm?"
"You're the most beautiful amazing girl I've ever met. And I want you to hear this."
I pulled out a guitar and faced her.
(Insert Say You won't let go song from the top:))
I finished singing and Annabeth was looking at me in shock. She grabbed me and pulled me into a kiss.
"I once saw a quote," I said once we were done, "it said, "Don't be afraid to take a big step, you can't cross a chasm in two small steps."
She smiled with tears still in her eyes. "and?"
I grabbed her hand and hauled her to her feet.
"And I know that you're the perfect one for me. When I first saw you, I thought you were a princess. You are my world, and I'd do anything to keep you safe." I bent down and picked up an apple.
"Go long!" I tossed the apple, it soared through the air and landed in her hands. I walked towards Annabeth and got down on one knee.
"Will you? Annabeth Chase, make me the happiest man in the world?"
"Yes, Yes, Yes, Perseus Jackson, A thousand times yes." I gave her the ring.
It was a beautiful sea-green jewel with a small engraving of an owl holding a trident outlined in silver. On the inner part of the ring, there were "Seaweedbrain, and WiseGirl, with an infinity sign in between. The band itself was made of Silver and Celestial Bronze. She pulled me into a kiss, and let me tell you, it easily surpassed the record of the best underwater kiss ever.
(A/N OMGOMGOGMOGM I've always wanted to do this. I'm fangirling so hard rn.)
