Alexa's Point of View

I woke up in my bed, Aaron's arm slung across my chest. I picked his arm up softly moving it off of me and climbing out of bed.

I looked at myself in my mirror, Aaron's big shirt loosely hung from my body. My alarm clock read, six am. School is in an hour. I put on pajama pants and left my bedroom.

I walked into the kitchen, trying to find something to eat but was greeted by my father.

"Hey sweetheart," My father said.

"Hey," I said with wide eyes walking past him and heading towards the fridge.

"Well don't sound too excited," He laughed as I pulled the egg carton from the middle shelf. "Your hardworking father has been gone on trips to provide for his loving family."

I walked over to the stovetop, turning on a burner and getting ready to make scrambled eggs. I laughed at my father's comment, "Right."

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked.

"Nothing," I shook my head and bit my lip as I scrambled the eggs in the pan.

"How has school been?" My father asked.

"Good," I shrugged. "Made some new friends."

"Like who?" Asked my father.

"Aaron, Chase, Claire, and Haley," I said nonchalantly.

"Oh," He said, he seemed taken aback.

"Anything wrong with that?" I asked.

"No, no," He stammered and shook his head.

I tilted my head, giving him a look of confusion, "What's wrong?"

He grabbed his phone off the marble countertop and looked at his lock screen, "Sorry honey, I'm running late to work. Bye. Love you!" He rushed out the kitchen and out the front door leaving me utterly confused.

I finished cooking the eggs and made some toast before returning to my room. Aaron laid in the bed. He seemed barely awake, but he wasn't asleep.

"Hey," I said walking over to him.

He tossed around in the bed to face me, "Hi," He said with a wide grin.

"Made some food," I smiled and brought him his plate.

He sat up in my bed, patting an empty spot next to him. I smiled, sitting down.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked.

I shrugged, "Good I think. You?"

"Good," He nodded his head.

"My dad just left for work," I said. "And I don't think my mom is here so the house is free for you to explore."

He nodded his head, "Good to know Alexa."

I placed my head on his shoulder and continued to eat my food.

"Thanks for the breakfast," He said. "Tasted good."

I looked over at his plate, it was clean.

"No problem," I said grabbing his plate. "Come to the kitchen with me."

I walked into the kitchen with him following behind. I placed our plates in the dishwasher.

"Want something to drink?" I asked.

He nodded his head, "Please."

I went into the fridge as he walked off down the hall. I grabbed the large bottle of orange juice and poured him a glass, and then myself.
