2nd POV

You were watching Teru from a few feet behind him. He held the spirit in his hand tightly while holding his weapon.

"Hey Teru...? I have an idea for what we can do to it!" You spoke quietly, a bit nervous about suggesting something.

"Hm? Oh, what is it?" Teru loosened his grip on the spirit and lowered his weapon to look at you.

"Well... It involves fi-" 

"Absolutely not." He cut you off before you could finish, knowing what you were about to suggest. "We shouldn't set the school courtyard on fire, (y/n)-san!"

"M-My bad.." You laughed a bit as you scratched the back of your head and watched Teru as he exorcised the spirit. You looked up at the sky that was growing dark. You spotted the sliver of a shining moon in the darkening sky. "I should get home so I'll see you tomorrow, Teru-san!" You waved and walked off into the fading sunset.

"Stay safe, (y/n)-san" He called to you as you walked away.

The Next Day

You pressed your (s/c) hand onto your alarm, putting it on snooze. Slowly, you got out of bed and stretched. You made your way to where your uniform was laid out and put it on before grabbing your bag and heading downstairs and out the front door. You didn't want to have Teru wait for you too long so you started to speed walk down the sidewalk. You spotted him standing outside of his out and you started to walk faster, careful not to trip.

"Teru-san! I'm very sorry I'm late, I hope you didn't..." You trailed off seeing him talking with someone else. You tapped the back of his shoulder, not wanting to interrupt the 'King of Popularity' even if you were friends with him. "Teru-san..?"

"Ah, good morning (y/n)-san!" Teru looked at you and smiled, the girl in front of him glaring at you. You shrunk beneath her strong gaze. You knew you would could never be as confident as her.

"I think I can walk alone today if you wanted to walk with her, Teru-san.." You smiled before walked away down the sidewalk as he grabbed your arm and pulled you back.

"Actually, (girls name)-san, I'm dating (y/n) here." Teru unexpectedly stated. You burst into shades of pink and red.

"Huh? You're dating them? You're way out of their league though." She looked at you with an angry expression. Teru blinked a few times.

"What does it matter? I love them and they love me." He said looking at you with a smile as you felt yourself getting smaller as you got more embarrassed.

"Fine, whatever.." She crossed her arms and started to walk away, talking to her phone.

"Heh, sorry about that (y/n)-san, I just needed to get her away so we could walk together still." He let go of you and laughed slightly.

"A-ah I don't mind at all..." You looked at him, the heat on your face dying down a bit. "S-Shall we start walking t-to school then..?" You asked.

"We should, but I wouldn't be surprised if the girl started spreading rumors about us." Teru started walking as you followed closely behind.

"Y-yeah.. she probably already has..." You spoke quietly, looking at the ground. "B-but it's alright, I d-don't think I'd mind because you're still my friend.."

"Of course," He responded, smiling down at your figure that wasn't looking at him. Friend... he thought to himself.
