[America's POV]

We were in the middle of YET another meeting. We already had one today! Just in this one, fewer countries were asked to come.

Countries at the meeting:

-Russia

The Leaders:

EU

So yeah.
🇺🇳"America, what are you going to do about this?"
🇺🇸"Hm? Oh, yes. I was thinking, if the amount of ___ was reduced, the ____ would return to normal. We'd have to start within the next week to get our desired amount though"
🇺🇳"That doesn't seem too bad comparing to your other plans. Thank you for not making a joke out of this"

All I could do was nod.

After about 2½ hours, my phone ringed. A few countries looked at me for a split second. I checked my phone. Cali (California) was calling. Obviously, I declined. I have 15 minutes left in the meeting. She called once again, but after I declined again, she never called back.

🇺🇳"America, who was that?"
🇺🇸"No one really important. I'm so sorry"
🇺🇳"Okay, remember to mute your phone next time"
🇺🇸"Yessss sir"
🇺🇳"Good"
🇪🇺"Since we have talked about everything, we will close this meeting. Thank you"

Everyone- and I mean everyone took a sigh of relief. I picked up a few papers and walked to the door, giving Russia the "Don't follow me" look, since for some reason, he likes to follow me after meetings. It was kind of weird since he didn't like me at all. He also would, if he had the chance, kill me in the middle of a meeting. The guy told me that in person!

Once I made it out of the building,.I started up my car and let it heat up for a few minutes. It was in the middle of the winter so I had a heavy jacket on and boots.

Ring ring ring

My phone started ringing again. California.

🇺🇸"Hey Cali. Sorry for now answering earlier, I was in the middle of a meeting. You already know not to call me during those. Anyways, what's up?"
Cali "Uhh, Florida brought another alligator into the house"
🇺🇸"Oh my fucking God. Put him on the phone"
Cali "O-okay"

Florida "Heyoooo daaad!"
🇺🇸"Take that alligator and put it outside. I don't need the house being torn up. Plus, you know Geo is absolutely horrified by them!"
Florida "Ughhhh Fineeee. Asking as you make bacon in the morning"
🇺🇸"Deal, I don't have work tomorrow anyways. Give Cali her phone now, I gotta drive"
Florida "Yep yep, bye dude"

Phew...

My hands touched the leathery steering wheel as I began to pull out of the semi- empty parking lot. The light snow storm had begun to pick up a bit, so I had to hurry. Plus, New York and New Jersey were at a library with their friends! I had to pick them up since they refused to walk. I don't blame them now, but earlier I said they'd be fine.

Only 15 minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot and got as close as I could to the front doors. There I saw New York, New Jersey, and.. Hawaii? The three ran out and got into the car.
New Jersey called shotgun but Hawaii took it first. Yorkie though, didn't hold a grudge. He had his air pods in and had a straight face.

I honestly wondered how well he'd get along with Russia, since he was always quite rude. He has his reasons though, for being one of the oldest states. He always gets pestered by his siblings since he had a funny accent (The stereotypical NYC accent).

🇺🇸"Hawaii? Why were you with them?"
NY "The girl annoyed us. She said that if she couldn't come, then she'd break grandma's vase and blame it on me and Jersey here"
🇺🇸"Oh lord.. let's just go"

[Time Skip- 5 minutes away from home]

I checked the mirror. New Jersey sat in the back right seat, slumped down. New York on the other hand was still listening to music and staring out the window. Tree's started to pass by us, so I knew we were close. As soon as I saw the gravel driveway, I pulled in. It takes a bit of driving to get to the house since we pretty much live in the middle of the woods. The grassy yard infront of my house began to slowly appear. Once I was in the spot the car usually sits, I stopped and turned it off.

Alaska, Minnesota, and Maine played in the yard, then turned their heads towards us. I swear, the smiles on their faces only became wider.

The trio ran over, trying to not fall in the thick blanket of snow. By the time they go to the front door, I had sat down on the couch and began to relax for.. a whole minute. Yep. That's when more states came and crowded me. They had many questions, but I refused to answer half of them since they didn't have a real good answer. That's until..

Alaska "Hey.. how is Russia?"
🇺🇸"Hm?"

I froze. I do remember that Alaska and Russia were pretty close, but separated when I adopted Alaska.

🇺🇸"Oh.. uh.. he was actually quiet. He did seem really upset though"
Alaska "Okay, thanks"
