CHAPTER EIGHT | PG

______

ELIAS STOOD UNDER THE shower, water pouring down his head, his face blank, but his mind full of thought.

He was undeniably confused, who was Giovanni and why was he so important. The name was recognized, Elias could recall distant memories of the name, memories that later came during the night, haunting him.

Giuliana also came close too. Various amounts of remembrances flashed through his eyes, a little girl specifically. Calling back, Elias could put a name to the girl, he saw himself as a child next to her playing on the beach. Elias always seemed to recollect memories since meeting Genevieve, most of the people at the bid, he openly recognized as if he knew them for years, yet he never met not one of them.

Jonas and Daniel also brought back memories, specifically from a family. They conversed and forewarned him of the mafia. Despite his simple recognition from various different police files, Elias never imagined the history behind it. Elias could remember Jonas talking about numerous families battling to become leaders of the underworld, specifically two families, the Romano's and the De Angelo's.

The De Angelos were described as kind criminals, in spite of their dangerous nature, they were, one of the very few, who were saved. Their response being, killing only the guilty, protecting the innocent. Elias didn't believe in this kind of talk, to him, no one was innocent, in fact, everyone was guilty. His reason being, that everyone has sinned, not one is innocent. Like in court, the term innocent prevails, only guilt does.

The Romanos were very much different. They were cruel, vicious, and blood-thirsty. Not having a care, for who they kill or who they hurt. Elias had always had the sort of feeling for the name. He could pinpoint it as hate or as distaste. Daniel liked getting into detail of them, when meeting Genevieve, he was certainly curious about the family, but the brunette never cared in mentioning her past nor her family's.

Elias grew quite intrigued by her and her history. He specifically knew many things that triggered her anger by either certain names or words, so he never bothered asking.

Thinking about her, Elias could always feel a sort of connection towards Genevieve, perhaps a familiarity. Particularly, her eyes had a peculiar and odd feeling to them.

He grew thinking of a phrase that always stuck to him, 'Los ojos, tío, nunca mienten'. At a very young age Elias brought familiarity and recognition from a person's eye.

But, in Daniel's story, something stuck out, or at least he identified it as an experience. They mention something about a "kidnapping", who included the mysterious Giovanni De Angelo and Giuliana Alessandro to disappear from the face of the earth. The leaders of the Alessandro clan were brutally murdered, whilst the rest of their children, which were one-year old twins, went missing too.

"Uncle Ellie! I brought a friend over!"

Elias shook his head water droplets from his thick brown locks trickling down the grey slate flooring, a small light-hearted chuckle escaping his lips.

After yesterday's events, Lucy was left annoyed in the lounge, she demanded that she deserves Elias to babysit her for leaving her bored out of her mind.

Wrapping the towel loosely around his waist, he walked out of the bathroom, sauntering down to the kitchen. Elias' eyes widened when he saw who stood there.
