You walked over to the tree, and sat next to Ray. You were already out of breath from running so far, so you collapsed on your knees then and there. "Heh, your already tired even though you didn't even run that far? What a loser." Ray teased you, a smirk plastered onto his face. "Shut up, Ray!" You said, covering his mouth with both of your hands.
You looked at his face as he struggled to get your hands off of him. You just giggled at how cute he was. Ray blushed, and eventually, Norman and Emma came back. You sat next to Norman, and layed your head in his lap. The albino boy just looked down at you, and smiled. The sun made him look even prettier.
You weren't exactly focused on what the trio were talking about, more of just Norman. "NORMAN!" You heard a deeper voice call out. It was Don, a kid a year younger then you. "I want a rematch, next round, everyone will be it except you!" Don yelled, his anger getting the best of him.
Norman just smiled and looked down at you. "Well? If I'm playing Tag, you have to get off me." Norman smugly said, he knew exactly what he was doing. "Heheh! Alright then! But I will find you this time!" You grinned. "Heh, I'm sure you will.." Norman said, and put his hand on your cheek. He cradled it softly for about a few minutes, before getting up.
You decided to carry Ray with you, there was lots of kicking and screaming from the discount Sasuke, but overall the journey was fine. You saw Emma and Norman, and smiled immediately. "Heh! We found em! Aw.. looks like Emma got em first, huh?" You whined.
"Its alright, you'll do better next time!" Emma said, patting your head gently. Ray grumbled slightly, then, came the rest. "Hey?! What are you four doing back here?" "Aw, is it over already?" A girl named Gilda said, like Don, she was a year younger then you.
"We should get back, Mama will get worried." Norman smiled. "Heheh, one day were all gonna be outside, huh?" You said looking up at the sky. But, once again, you tuned out of the conversation. You noticed Ray seemd a bit down, so you went over to him.
"Hey, you alright, buddy?" You said, obviously concerned. Ray flinched at the nickname, "D-Dont call me that, please.." Ray said. "Huh? But your my friend! Now, whats up?" You pouted. "Uh.. its nothing.." Ray looked away, seemingly avoiding eye contact. "Uh.. okay, whatever you say, buddy!" You smiled sadly.
"Hey, stop flirting and tell us what you wanna do outside!" Don shouted. "W-Were not flirting!" Ray denied. "Uh, well I wanna live with Emma, Norman, and Ray!" You put your arm around Ray, as he flinched at your touch. Most of everyone seemed to just notice you were there, and some seemed to just wanna hear Ray, not you.
Of course they wanna hear from him, not me.. you thought in your mind. "Well, if I were to go outside.. I'd have to survive first." Ray said. "What a downer.. anyway, what about you Emma?" Once again, you tuned out of the conversation. Seriously, what made you feel so down today? Was today your breaking point? What was this nervous feeling inside you?
"I promise to write, I'll write tons of letters, and I'll never forget any of my children!" A girl named Conny said, she was actually getting adopted today. Your probably wondering why she wasn't introduced at the prolouge, well, like I said many times before. Nobody ever notices you, and thinks your just a sidekick or some bullshit.
"You really love Mama, huh?" Emma said. "Mhm!" Conny nodded.
Conny was finally leaving, you watched as everyone cried and as she cried too. Conny really didn't wanna leave, you guessed it just didn't matter all that much since she never even spoke to you once. You went to the dining room for cleaning time with Emma. Then, Emma shouted..
"CONNYYYY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" It seemed Conny had left her prized plush there, Little Bunny. "Let's just finish cleaning. But Conny already left!" Gilda said as she noticed. "What do we do?! Do we tell Mama when she's back?!" You said on the other side of Emma. "Its not too late." Ray suddenly came in.
"The lights from the gate are still on, I don't think Conny has left yet." He suggested. "Let's go, Emma, Y/N." Norman said. You both nodded, and headed off into the dark. The night sky was pretty, shimmering on all the green grass. You saw the gate once again, you hadn't been here in a while.
"Never go to the gate because it's dangerous.." Emma said, looking up at it. "Yeah, but let's go anyway! I mean, whats she gonna do? Were just giving our sibling her toy back!" You beamed, putting your hand on your hip. Norman then took his hand out of yours, it seemed he had put it in yours without noticing. "S-Sorry.." "Nah, its good, man!"
You wondered into the eery presence of the gate, something about it felt so off. Especially that truck.."A truck, actually, I've never seen a truck before!" Emma said, admiring the features of this gray truck. You wondered to the window with Norman, then.. the one noise and two words that started it all..
Thump!
Emma took a step back, her face absolutely horrified. What had she seen? "N-Norman.. Y/N.." Emma stammered out. You quickly ran over, as Norman cautiously walked over. Such a difference between the two, yet so attracted to the other, huh? Then, you saw what she saw..
Connys dead, cold, gray body.
