1: The day it began.

The chirping of birds filled your ears, and the sun slowly came up and the shimmering light peeked into the bedroom. You stretched out your limbs and sat up, and made eye contact with Emma. You made a big grin at her, as she just smiled. You both inhaled..

"EVERYONE! WAKE UP! OR ELSE YOU'LL BE LATE FOR BREAKFAAAAAAAST!" The day began, some kids asking Emma to help with there shoes. You ran down the hallway, looking for Norman directly. You were his friend, after all. You entered the room to see Ray bullying Emma once again.

"How old are you? Five?" Ray asked sarcastically. "I'm 11, the same as you guys! And the oldest here!" Emma defended herself. "Oiii, Ray! Don't be such a jerk to my friend!" You said walking up to him. "Oh? What are you gonna do about it, Y/N?" Ray teased.

"I'm gonna beat you up!" You said, holding out your fist. "Heh, sure. Then you'll get too scared because you think your gonna hurt me." Ray smirked at you, you opened your mouth to say something, but just gave up. "Hey, Y/N. Wanna sit by each other today?" Norman asked you, taking your hands gently. You flinched at the touch, but smiled.

"Heh! Sure, buddy!" You grinned. Norman paused, then just giggled at you. To him, that was rather.. cute.. but, aside that, you began eating. You looked at everybody's numbers, it was normal, but you always wondered where the hell they came from. But, you shook it off, it didn't matter anyway.

Thus, began your daily test. You answered each question within 5 seconds, because you took this test so many times, you knew the answer. But you at least had to process what the hell it was. "Well, I think I got at least half!" Lani said. "That many? Amazing!" Said a child.

"Okay, let's see the results! Emma, Norman, Ray... Y/N! Perfect scores again! I'm so proud of you!" Everybody cheered, but, you knew it wasn't for you. You were always known as a sidekick, just a pushover. Nobody ever noticed you besides those three. Emma, Norman, and Ray noticed your expression.

They always knew you had this insecurity from when you vented a bit, so, Emma spoke up. "Hey, guys! You know Y/N hates being ignored!" Emma whined, the kids just looked away in guilt. Norman just took your hand and rubbed his thumb against your soft skin. "Don't worry, none of us think your a pushover. Neither do i." Norman smiled, you smiled back sadly.

Ray just proceeded to go on a rant about your amazing qualities. Seriously, this dude wouldn't stop until you told him to. It was then time to go outside, you ran out into the forest, looking for a place to hide. You sat high up into a tree, and just looked at the pretty sky. You appreciated what you had, even if you were just constantly ignored.

Your heart ached, but you smiled through the pain. Then, a soft voice spoke. "N/N?.." You heard from below you. "Oh, hey Norman!" You said, putting the mask on once again. Everything was alright. Everything was fine. Just as long as they were happy, that's all that mattered to you. "You caught me again, eh?~ No fair!" You whined, pouting.

Norman stayed silent, you were kind of getting concerned. He just had this sympathetic look in his eye, he gently put his hands on your shoulders. "Hey, if anything is wrong, you can tell me.." Norman said, your mask broke and you just frowned. "Don't worry, someday, I know you'll impress us all. I just see it. Your already an amazing human being, so.."

Norman smiled at you, you melted at the sight of his warm gentle smile. "Your going to do incredible things, I just know it!" You smiled at his words. "Thank you, Norman." "No problem, hehe.." Norman laughed, your cheeks warmed at his laugh. You did wonder, why did you feel so insecure today?

Meh, it was probably nothing.
