Hestia's heart stopped. The young girl had never felt that level of fear in her life, which was mirrored in her ear piercing scream. The quartet pulled the door open and ran out of the room. Once everyone was out safely, they pushed the door with all their strength. Hestia was suddenly thankful for the dogs large frame, as it meant that it couldn't escape through the doorway. They quickly locked the door and ran out of the hallway, not wanting to spend a second longer than necessary.
"What do they think they're doing?!" Ron shouted through the silence. "Keeping a thing like that in a school."
"You don't use your eyes, do you? Didn't you see what it was standing on?" Hermione said, still gasping heavily.
"I wasnt looking at its feet. I was a bit preoccupied looking at its heads. Now, maybe you didn't notice but there were three!" Ron retorted.
"It was standing on a trapdoor, which means it wasn't there by accident!" She explained. "It's guarding something."
Ron and Harry looked at each other with furrowed brows before returning their gaze back to Hermione. All jokes aside, they looked at her as if she had 3 heads.
"Guarding something?" Harry asked, his voice laced with confusion.
"Yes. Now, if you two don't mind, I'm off to bed. Before either one of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed. Or worse, expelled. Come on Hestia." She grabbed the girls hand before marching off to bed.
"Goodnight!" Hestia called, shooting the boys a smile as she followed Hermione up to the dorms.
"Please could you get some sleep tonight. You don't want another day where you fall asleep in potions." The girl giggled, their hands still interlocked.

"One of the wizards most rudimentary skills is levitation. This is used to make objects fly. Now, do you all have your feathers?"
Hermione held up her white feather, one the same as the feathers that littered the students desks.
"Now, don't forget the nice brisk movement that we've been practising. You want to swish and flick. Everyone."
The class picked up their wands and mimicked the Professors movement l whilst muttering the words 'swish and flick'.
"Good. Now enunciate. Wingardium leviosa."
Hestia nodded to herself whilst repeating the words in her brain. The girl pointed her wand towards the feather, confidently saying the words.
The feather didn't move an inch. She watched the rest of the class copy, noone getting any closer to levitation than she did."Stop, stop stop!" Hestia heard from behind her. "You're going to take someones eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's leviOsa. Not leviosA."
Ron rolled his eyes in annoyance and Hestia frowned at him. The girl was only trying to help him.
"You do it then, if you're so clever."
Hestia nodded at the girl, signalling her to give a demonstration. Hermione said the incantation, swishing her wand gently. Before Hestia knew, the feather was 6ft in the air, gliding above her like a bird. She watched in awe and the girl couldn't help but wonder how it would feel to fly. For the whole world to be below you. To feel so light that the air could lift you up and carry you across the blue skies.
"Well done, Miss Granger's done it!" The professor happily announced. The whole class was watching the feather by now, all sporting the same expression as Hestia. Hermione smiled, proud of herself whilst Hestia clapped for her. Next to Harry, a boy by the name of Seamus attempted it.
" Wingard Levosa." He murmured, saying it completely wrong. The feather exploded in the boys face, covering him in soot.
"I think we're going to need another feather over here, sir." said Harry.

"It's leviOOsa, not leviosAA." Ron mimicked Hermione, over exaggerating it. The boy walked with Harry and SEAMUS, both boys laughing at Ron's ridiculous impression. Hestia figured that the boy didn't realise that Hermione was walking right behind them.
"She's a nightmare, honestly! No wonder she hasn't got any friends." The girl gasped at his words, whereas Hermione just pushed past them. The poor girl was basically in tears and Hestia felt immense anger on her behalf.
"Oi!" Hestia yelled, stepping in front of Ron. "Don't you realise how horrid you are? She was only trying to help you as you are clearly incapable of doing things yourself. You're just a.. a.." The girl stumbled over her words, wracking her brain for an insult.
"A bully." She spat. She gave them one last glare before hurrying after her friend.
