Hestia sat in the train compartment, feeling a vast range of emotions swirling inside of her like a storm. It was only a few hours ago that she was sat happily inside of her cosy cottage in the company of her loving godfather whereas now, she sat in the cold compartment, heading back to the stone walls of Hogwarts. The girl wasn't necessarily upset about where she was headed, but what she was leaving behind. She hadn't seen her Remus in months and she found it slightly unfair that she only got two weeks with him before being carted back to her school.Naturally, she was excited about seeing her friends again and even more excited to shower them with her heartfelt gifts. Though, that didn't mean she wasn't at least a little disappointed to be leaving Moony. Hermione, noticing her downcast expression, immediately reassured the girl that she would see her godfather soon and she needn't worry but Hestia couldn't help but still feel a bit lost. So, after giving her friend a comforting hug, Hermione decided to leave the girl alone for a bit with her thoughts. Because sometimes, all a person needs is time.
The train ride was shorter than usual, though maybe it was down to the fact that Hestia was slightly out of it. Having not slept for 24 hours sort of does that to you.
Soon enough, the two girls arrived back at school. Hestia's mood improved drastically after meeting with the two boys. The quartet each told their experiences over the holiday, the boys explaining the invisibility cloak and Harry sneaking off the restricted section of the library, though coming out empty handed.
Hestia happily gave them their gifts. For Ron, a Chudley Canons poster (the boys favourite Quidditch team).
For Hermione, a muggle book by the name of 'Jane Eyre', a book that Hestia had recommended the bookworm.
And for Harry, a wizard sweet box, filled to the brim with the tastiest assortment of treats as well as a new quill as the boy had broken his previous one.To say that the trio were ecstatic about their received gifts would be an understatement, though they did express their guilt for not buying Hestia anything. To which the girl shrugged with a genuine, "Don't worry about it." After all, a real gift is something that doesn't require anything in return. The trios happy smiles were rewarding enough for the girl.
As they all sat in the common room, laughing and joking with each other, Hestia realised that going back to Hogwarts wasn't so bad. Sure, she would miss Moony, but she also had a family here. A family that she wouldn't trade for her anything. They were her second home.

"Hello Hedwig." Harry smiled at the white owl that had perched itself beside him.It was mid January and the quartet were sat quietly in the Great Hall, surrounded by plenty of books to last a lifetime. Hestia and Hermione had encouraged the two boys to join them in a study session in preparation for the upcoming exams. Though, Ron wasn't doing as much studying as we was sorting through his chocolate frog cards.
"Look at you playing with your cards. Pathetic." Hermione said quietly, suddenly realising the boys lack of interest in the open pages. "We've got final exams coming up!"
"Hermione does have a point, Ronald. You really should put some effort in." Hestia added.
The boy shot the girls an offended look, placing his hand over his chest on the opposite side of his heart. Idiot.
"I'm ready! Ask me any question." He spat confidently.
"Alright." Hermione said, ready to prove her point whilst Hestia watched in amusement. She knew how this would end, and she was honestly fully ready for the show. "What are the three most crucial ingredients in a forgetfulness potion?"
"Forgot." The boy muttered as Hestia and Harry shared amused glances. Neither one was surprised at his answer.
"And what, may I ask, do you plan to do if this shows up in your exam?" Hermione asked, eyebrows raised.
"Copy off you?" Ron retorted. Both Harry and Hestia snorted at the response whilst Hermione wasn't amused in the slightest.
"No you won't." She affirmed harshly.
"Besides," She leaned back in her seat. "According to Professor McGonagall, we are to be given a special quill bewitched with an anti-cheating spell."
"That's insulting!" Ron exclaimed, his hand still on the wrong side of his chest. "It's as if they don't trust us."
The boy sent a hurt look towards Harry, who sent a confused look at a giggling Hestia. She really was thankful for the pairs dramatics, despite how much she pretended to hate it. It was a good distraction from her work, which she didn't mind in the slightest. Of course, the girl cared fiercely about her grades however, she was confided in her abilities and wasn't in need of revision. The girl just did it to please Hermione, and it worked.
"Dumbledore again." Ron muttered, frowning sadly at his Dumbledore card, which he already owned 5 of.
Just then, Neville Longbottom, a boy that Hestia had grew to like, came hopping through the great Hall like a bunny rabbit. Hestia just assumed that he was pretending to be a frog or something, making a funny joke. So she ignored it.
"Leg locking curse." Ron whispered sadly. Hestia looked up from her revision with a confused look on her face.
"Malfoy." Harry spat, anger coating his face like a blanket.
Hestia honestly didn't know what the pair were on about, but Harry's angry expression gave her the feeling that it wasn't a good thing. The boy in question hopped his way over to a concerned Hestia, the whole of the Great Hall still laughing at the poor boy.
"You have got to start standing up for yourself Neville." Ron told the boy.
"How? I can barely stand at all!" Neville breathed, rocking from side to side. Hestia stood up and kept a firm hold on the boy, making sure that he wouldn't fall over. Neville sent the girl a grateful smile, sighing tiredly.
Seamus stood up from beside Ron, wand in hand." I can help. I know the counter curse!"
Though Hestia knew his heart was in the right place, she also knew that the boy wasn't exactly reliable to execute spells without causing a fire. Or burning his eyebrows off.
"Oh that's all I bloody need. You to set my kneecaps on fire." The boy exclaimed. Ron snickered whilst Hestia sighed. Though it sounded rather harsh, she couldn't help but agree. Seamus let out an offended gasp.
"I don't appreciate the insinuation, Longbottom!" The boy shouted, his accent thickening in rage. "Besides, if anyone cares to notice, my eyebrows have completely grown back."
The boy walked away and the group had to refrain themselves from laughing at the boys bald patch, clearly burned off by one of his spells. Even Hermione was biting her lips in an attempt to quiet her giggles.
Suddenly, Harry's voice pierced through the deafening silence and effectively distracting the group from Seamus' retreating figure.
"I've found him!"
