The work never stopped when it was already a half of the year. Asgore asked for more ideas and mechanisms that could make the work for everyone easier , but me and my partners couldn't come up with a decent idea would come out that quickly as he wanted. It was tough , and we barely had any chances to sleep. When i was 13 , my eyes were more blind , and i had to wear glasses. It all felt like a survival at this point , and it was horrifying. I can't even properly explain all the challenge we had to go through. I tried impressing monsters again, but all of the stuff i presented was useless. I couldn't handle all of that anymore , i needed a break , i needed to relax , and it all started with me going to Grillby's. From there , my alcoholism began. All the gold i had was spend on the drinks , i knew it was bad , but atleast through drinks i could somehow relax...i needed that feeling. But i was stable enough to work at the same time , which was...good.
I got tired of machinery , and decided to work on something more serious.
2 monsters decided to be my test subjects , all the risks were accepted. Had to extend my Laboratory with more equipment we could gather from Asgore's sources , and the first experiment began. I wanted to try and experiment with the monster souls by that time...For those who don't know , Monster souls are one's that aren't capable of having traits , Humans ancestors were more progressed into using their traits magic , and it made their souls more valuable , unlike Monsters , who were more skilled in martial arts and using weapons. Traits give their own abilities , and change the traits owner acting. But traits change overtime if the soul becomes weaker , so it requires almost daily training. I wanted to try and get a Human soul , just so i could take its trait and inject it into the Monsters's soul. The King couldn't afford any souls by that time , and so we made a hidden passage to the surface. Mt. Ebott had some weak spots on it , which were easy to break through. We couldn't exchange the information about those spots to monsters , as it would inflict a new war. Everything was happening secretly , as the first trait i got , under Royal Guards watch of course , was Bravery and Justice.
The experiment through injection...was a success. Traits managed to adapt to the Monsters souls , and changing their acting , but not giving any significant abilities. The Justice subject lived long enough , however , Bravery subject died 3 weeks after , due to the non natural injection corrupting the hosts soul , and cracking it through time. The death happened in a bunker , made specifically for failed experiments. Everyone thought the subject went missing , but in reality , the reasons behind the disappearence were unknown in public. Justice subject , due to the new emotions and acting , became a successful attorney in the underground , which made everyone surprised. I knew , if the first one was a success , other one's could be as well. I made various blueprints of a Trait Extractor , which could make the job easier , and many more things that did as well , but everything required energy and power , and we couldn't get it out of nowhere. My idea was...making an unlimited energy source , that could help me. It all was fun , and interesting. Me and Asgore got to know eachother better through getting human souls , which made us both friends. It was good to know that the King himself was on my side , as long as more partners. Creativity and more ideas came 2 months later , as we started extending our laboratory space , so all the required experiments would be easier to do. I still had ideas about a source , as the only problem was how would it look like , and what could help us getting the power.... but...it was still planned. The progress was great , no other words. But an accident occured with me later back in Snowdin , which gave me another job , aside from being a Scientist.
