According to an age-old Greek myth, humans originally had 4 arms, 4 legs, and two faces. Fearing their growing power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves. According to the myth, one part was male, and the alternative was female.

Let's get into the details. Some humans were male and female. Some were just male and male, some were female and female, some could be a combination and some were so strong that they did not need an extra pair of hands, legs and another head. They could be male or female, or they could be both as one. They were complete. Each one was powerful. Powerful enough to scare the lord of the gods.

And yes, Zeus split them. And when they demanded answers, he gave them an incomplete statement. He only mentioned about one half being male and the other being female. He didn't disclose the rest of it. He wanted the people to stay apart from each other and never become strong. He wanted people to be confused, searching for the 'perfect match'.

And for years, people believed that. There was only one type of pairing possible- male and female. All the people trying to find the other half in the other gender. But could they?

Finally, people began to uncover the secret Zeus kept with himself. They found their pairs, the way they were originally made. And some people realized they don't need the other pair they were looking for. That made them powerful and content again.

To all who refer to this myth and wonder, 'Where does that leave me?' Here. The part of your story is here, a treasured secret.

But people had lost their connectivity with the gods and had foes with their own kind. They did not want to see others become powerful. They refused to believe that there was any other kind of bonding than the one Zeus told them, the one they believed was true.

And people have started to realize that they didn't need other people's affirmation to find their counterpart, or not to find one.
