Chapter Four

"I don't want to.", Akane said. Her brother sighed. "Changed your mind already?" She nodded with a scared look on her face. She really didn't want to go anymore. It was scary. People are scary. What if they didn't like her?

"You don't need to worry. I'm sure they will love you. How could they not?", her brother Daichi said, smiling at her. 'Maybe because I look like a weirdo?', she thought. Yes, it was true. She had pale skin, piercing red eyes, black messy hair and dark purple bags under her eyes. She didn't look anything like Daichi. He had spiky black hair, which showed some rest of the red hair dye he had on last year on its tips. His eyes were sparkling green, one of them was a glass eye. He also had warm, tan skin. He looked cool, while Akane looked like a ghost.

The reason why they didn't look very alike is that Akane got adopted by the Akazawa family. She didn't know her biological parents, so she had to learn about the way her quirk works on her own. Her brother couldn't say enough how proud he is of her, because she got into UA. Yes, she wanted it back then. But now it was just scary.

And if her looks weren't even enough, she was the new girl in 1A. They all got to know each other on their first day, but of course Akane got sick the last week and also stayed at home yesterday. They've probably all made friends and friend groups already. And she wasn't really good at making friends to begin with. So, this wasn't a really good head start. This would be a disaster.

"Don't worry so much, Akane!" Now Daichi got a little angry. He was a very social person, everyone kind of liked him. So, he couldn't understand Akane's situation. They would be scared of her because of her looks, her way to speak and her quirk. Why did she sign up again?

Right, to make her brother proud. 'Don't be like that, Akane! Make Daichi proud!', she thought, slapping her face with both hands and knocked fiercely on the door. It was very loud. And embarrassing. Looking around, her brother already ran down the school floor to get to his own classroom of 2A. At this point she wished he would have stayed.

The door was pushed open and a young woman looked at her. She seemed friendly. Was that the teacher? "You must be Akazawa. Come on in!", she excitedly said and walked into the classroom. Akane followed her. Nineteen faces looked at her. Some were surprised, some excited, some didn't seem to care at all. It did look like a good start for Akane for once.

"I'm Togata Eri, your homeroom teacher. These are your classmates. I'm sure you can find friends here." Akane wasn't so sure when she looked at a blonde girl or that feminine boy with sickly skin in the back who seemed like he didn't want to make friends at all. Probably the friendliest of them all seemed to be a black-haired boy with curls, a girl with sunset hair and red blinking eyes and another girl with short black hair and a cheeky grin. She seemed to be the nicest out of them all. And she also had black hair and red eyes. She didn't look scary at all. But maybe she was willing to be friends with Akane?

Her teacher seated her right next to a girl with wavy black hair and pink shining eyes. She waved friendly and smiled. As Akane sat next to her, she said: "Oh, I think I've met you before! The entrance exam, right? You were teamed up with that blue haired guy."

Akane nodded silently. The only one in UA who knew how her ability worked was this guy. He had been very neutral about it. She heard he was in class 1B now. "My name is Watanabe Kohana. Nice to meet you!" Akane nodded again. She seemed like a really nice person, but she didn't know how to respond to a girl like Watanabe.

"I saw the quirks of our classmates already but I'm really interested in yours! What is it?", Watanabe asked her and she shuddered. She wanted to avoid talking about it for as long as she could. "Quiet please!", Togata-sensei came to Akane's help, probably not intentionally, but still. She really didn't want to talk about it.
