Intro: Natsu and Lucy take a mission together along with Happy! Erza, Gray, Wendy, & Carla are on a separate mission just for them. However, the enemy seems to find a weak point and this causes Lucy to get hurt. What will happen next?
(THIS TALKS ABOUT GETTING STABBED. IT MENTIONS BLOOD AS WELL. IF YOU CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS, PLEASE SKIP AHEAD)

Lucy looked around the area they were at. All she could see was trees, trees, and more trees! She looked pointedly at Natsu. "Are you sure you did not get us lost?" She asked accusingly. Natsu however just gave her a huge grin in return. "Cours' not!" He yelled enthusiastically. "You should always trust a dragon slayer's nose Luce!" He proclaimed as he pointed at his nose this time. Lucy just rolled her eyes and looked up at the sky. "Ne, Happy, do you see anything?" she asked. He looked down at her, fish in mouth and said, "Nothing Lushi. Just some trees, a few lakes, and a few hills." He stated before munching down on the fish some more. Lucy sighed before once again looking ahead of her continuing their adventure. Maybe not much longer. She thought to herself. Only to later regret it.

Lucy's POV:
It feels like we've been walking for days, but in reality I know it's only been hours. My legs feel like steel, my arms feel like rocks, and my stomach feels so empty I could eat as much as Natsu normally does. Though, I know the last one is definitely my imagination. I look up at the sky to see it's in the late evening. Probably around 6 or 6:30 if I was to estimate due to the wind direction and sun. "Hey guys, why don't we camp here for tonight? We're not due until tomorrow, and we should be halfway there. It's getting late and I for one won't be able to see anything when it gets full dark." I state. Happy nodded alone putting in his own statement, "I agree with Lushi. Plus, I won't be able to see." After he finished what he said, he flew down and sat on the ground while munching on his 3rd fish?

Natsu looked at us and nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll start setting up the bag then." He announced with a grin. I don't really understand how he can be all happy about getting sleeping bags ready, but I'm not too surprised. It IS Natsu of course. While me and Happy waited for Natsu to finish up, I stared up at the little of the sky I could see, which wasn't much. I started to make weird shapes in my head with all the stars that could be seen. I made about 21 shapes when Natsu said he was done. Though, I'm not sure all of my sightings could be called shapes. More like imaginary items or shapes.

We all finally laid down and slowly went to sleep peacefully. Though, Happy did have a fish with him. I'm sure I'll be waking up smelling LIKE a fish tomorrow.

They did not get as much sleep as they thought they would. Lucy looked around herself as she stood fighting 3 of the enemies. They were attacked in the middle of their sleep. Luckily, Natsu was able to smell them before they got close enough to leave a physical attack on them. However, they had no time to prepare, because as soon as the pair along with the exceed stood up, they came out from behind some trees. While Lucy had Taurus out, she also was using her whip to fight off the enemy.

Lucy noticed that Natsu along with Happy was fighting 5 enemies. This is either a group from a dark guild, or just a regular group of dark wizards. Either way we should hurry this up. While Lucy was distracted she didn't notice one of the enemies getting too close. The dark mage shot out one of his spells towards Lucy, though it wasn't anything dangerous, it just sent her flying a bit. Lucy landed with her back to a tree and her head pounding. Well that could've been a softer landing. Lucy stood back up struggling some with her back. She finally stood straight up and was able to get back to fighting. As she stood there fighting along with Taurus, she couldn't help but think back to the many missions she, Natsu, and Happy have gone on. Compared to some of them, this was nothing, so she would make sure to defeat her opponent.

After a while Natsu and Lucy had somehow rounded them up. Now, they didn't defeat them, they just wound up cornering them together. Which is a good and a bad thing. Because now they're all together and can attack as a group. But it also means that Natsu, Lucy, and Happy were together so they could fight as a team instead as an individual. Now they stood beside each other with Happy above them fighting all 8 of the enemies.

Lucy couldn't help but smirk some. They had them cornered, even if they had the upper hand in mage count, with the right amount of power they could be defeated. However, what she wasn't expecting was for another dark mage to pop out of the trees to the left and come running at them. Lucy turned around to fight that one leaving the others for Natsu to handle. It wasn't good to be caught off guard like this, and now it's 1 against 8. But, if they work quick enough she knew they could turn it around again.

Lucy called out Loke to help with Natsu since she could hear him yelling behind her while she focused on the dark mage in front of her. "What are you guys after?!" she yelled venomously. The dark mage just chuckled as he continued his own attacks and whispered, "You'll find out soon enough." Lucy couldn't help but worry some, however she did not intend to give in. She felt lots of heat behind her and knew that Natsu probably just did his fire dragon roar. She smiled at that. There was no way they would get out unscathed from that. However, she heard happy gasp loudy and natsu curse. Curiously she turned around to see what was going on, having forgotten the mage she was fighting. She stared wide eyed as she looked ahead of her. The fire had done no damage at all. All the dark mages just stood there with a smile on their face.

Natsu sniffed the air and suddenly turned around to Lucy. "Lucy! Look out!" Natsu yelled as he sprung forward to try to get to Lucy. Sadly they were too far apart for him to get to her in time. Luckily she had enough warning to move to the side, but she still got hurt, just not as much as she would have. Instead of going through the middle of her stomach, the sword had gotten lodged into her left side. Lucy let out a scream as it tore through her skin. Loke disappeared and reappeared beside Lucy in a flash with his eyes looking away from her. Loke used one of his attacks to send the mage that had attacked Lucy away and caught Lucy as she started to fall.

Loke looked up at Natsu and said, "We need to defeat these guys. I have to get Virgo from the spirit world real quick so she can heal her up the best she can. Don't let them hurt her anymore." He waited for no response and disappeared to get Virgo. Natsu had a hard time looking away from Lucy. She had blood covering her, the grass, the leaves. And the mage that got thrown back into another tree after Loke's attack. It looked like everything was stained in blood. Natsu longed to be beside Lucy and make sure she was okay, doing alright, anything. Just be near her. However, he had to protect her before he could do that. He knew the mage that struck her wouldn't be gaining consciousness anytime soon, so he turned his back to him and looked at the other 8 dark wizards in front of him. "You guys are gonna pay for what you did!" Natsu yelled dangerously.

He could hear behind him as Loke and Vigo arrived. Loke then walked up to Natsu and got ready to fight. By now all the dark mages were backing off. Not because of Loke, but because of Natsu. He was glowing in fire, fire all around him. And the worse part. The look in his eyes. He was looking for revenge, and he wasn't going to stop until he got it. They didn't even have time to move as he came running at them. Ready to attack and beat them up. All Natus could process in his mind was; They hurt Lucy. They have to pay. Natsu took on 6 of the dark mages along with Happy while Loke took the other 2. Loke easily defeated them in a matter of minutes. He looked over to the right and saw that Natsu had long defeated his. However, he hasn't stopped. Loke could see where this was leading. Natsu would eventually kill them if he kept going. The dark mages didn't even have the energy to fight him back. "Natsu! Stop! You're going to kill them!" Loke yelled as he ran over to them.

Natsu looked up and Loke, and Loke stopped, frozen. Natsu was crying. Loke had rarely ever seen Natsu cry. Natsu looked away and kept hitting them. Loke once again moved forward to stop Natsu, but he himself got stopped by the one and only, magic council. There were about 12 of them there, and they had all blocked his way to Natsu, since they themselves were heading in that direction. They started pulling Natsu off of the pile of dark mages he had created, but were struggling very hard to get him away. No matter how much they pulled, Natsu just doubled his strength to stand still. Eventually they got him pulled off and was able to secure him in magic handcuffs. Not to arrest him, but to stop him from using any more of his magic on the dark mages.

After they had us explain what happened, they let us go. Apparently the magic council had been looking for this group for quite a long time now. As soon as they let Natsu out of the magic handcuffs, he ran over to where Virgo and Lucy were and kneeled down beside her. "Hime should be fine. However, it would be best to get her to the sky maiden." Virgo said as she disappeared into the spirit world. I knew I was draining Lucy of power, so I reluctantly returned as well.

Natsu's POV:
I sat beside her in the infirmary at the guild. She is laying in the bed where she has been for the past 3 days. After I brought her home, Wendy was able to heal her fully. The only issue was, she wasn't waking up. Nobody knew why, and it was scary. The past few days helped me sort some things out though. I've known for quite some time now that I liked Lucy, but when talking to Master and Laxus about what happened, Laxus helped me figure out some things. Not only do I like Lucy, but she's also my mate. Which explains why I "overreacted" as some of the others said when she was hurt. I don't think I overreacted at all though. She was hurt, bad. Anyways, ever since then I haven't left the infirmary. There was a shower and bathroom in the room, Mira brought me food, and my mind was too focused on Lucy to care about anything else, so I could stay up here for as long as I needed. Even when I get tired, I can just lay on one of the beds beside her.

Speaking of, it's about time I request Happy to tell Mira what I want to eat. I peeked outside the infirmary door and called for Happy to come. I sat down beside Lucy's bed once again as Happy came in. "What do you want today, Natsu?" Happy asked as he looked over at Lucy sadly. I peered down at Lucy while I responded. "Just get me the fire chicken." I answered. As Happy started to leave a voice spoke up. "Can I get a strawberry shake?" a timid voice from under spoke. Happy stopped flying towards the door and turned to look at me with wide eyes. I jumped up and looked down at Lucy, to see where her eyes were opened and she had a small smile. "LUCY!" I yelled as I leaned over and gave the tightest hug I could give without hurting her. Happy himself came flying over while screaming, "LUSHI!" Lucy let out a giggle and hugged us both.

We all stood there smiling and laughing as we reconnected. I looked over at Lucy and gave her the biggest smile I could. I'll tell her someday. Just not today. I had decided. Lucy looked at me and gave me a questioning gaze as to why I was zoned out. Instead of answering, all I said was, "I'll always protect you."
