"Why won't you just talk to me" Chi Ang asks his sister and she just ignores him and continues to cut the vegetables in front of her.
"Leave me alone. Unlike you I'm actually serious about doing well in the school here" Soo-Ri snaps at her brother and continues to cut vegetables. He just walks back over to Shi Woo mumbling something that Soo-Ri doesn't hear.
"You know I thought you were closer with your brother" Minjae says to her as he's mixing the batter. Normally she would chose someone else in the class to be her partner. Literally anyone except him but he insisted today that they be partners. Something about wanting the two to be closer now that they're working together.
"Could you not say that so loud" Soo-Ri says shushing him immediately after he says brother. "And when he shows up acting rude to my friends and can't even be on time to the one thing at this school he's required to attend I start to get annoyed" She says and looks at him. "And if I let him get too close now he's just going to hold me back at this school. I've worked too hard to let someone like him drag me down"
"Like him?"
"Someone who's only life skill is flashing money"
Soo-Ri thought that when she saw her brother again she would be so happy and never want to let him go but now all she wants to do is send him home. She's spent all this time even wishing he would get the chance to attend the school so it wouldn't be as long until she sees him. Now her wish is being granted and she wants to take it back. She wants him to go home and quit bugging her and her friends. She feels embarrassed just by being at the same school as him. She still hasn't admitted to any of her friends that he's her brother. She wanted to the day before but after he acted so rude to her friends she doesn't even want to admit she knows him let alone is related to him. Soo-Ri continues to be lost in thought and chop the vegetables when suddenly Minjae grabs the knife from her hand. "Be more careful" He tells her and she looks down at her hands to see she's managed to cut her finger.
"Sorry" She mumbles and he grabs her hand to look at it. She looks from him to Yeop Jeong who's standing at the cooking area just behind theirs. He doesn't seem happy seeing the two close. She looks away from him and back to Minjae who wipes the blood off her hand.
"I'll take it over from here" She just stands back watching him do the rest. Suddenly Shi Woo throws himself to the floor and backs against one of the tables causing everyone to look at him confused. "What-" Just as she starts to speak she notices the pot smoking and the fire under it getting bigger.
"Watch out" Soon Ah says just before the oil inside explodes causing hot food to be launched around the room. Everyone ducks behind their tables to avoid being hit except for Shi Woo. He stays sitting on the floor with a look of fear clear on his face. Soo-Ri hears a few loud bangs before she can finally hear someone patting out the fire. She stands up from behind the table and starts walking towards Chi Ang but Shi Woo beats her to it. He grabs Chi Ang by the front of his shirt.
"Did you do that on purpose?!" He yells at him.
"Did what on purpose?!" Chi Ang yells back seemingly just as angry as he shoves Chi Woos hands away.
"Now this is entertainment" Minjae whispers to Soo-Ri as everyone in the class watch them argue.
"Knock it off!" The teacher yells and everyone looks at him. "Everyone get out. Class is over for today" He says waiving everyone off. They all start to leave the room and when they do Yeop Jeong grabs Soo-Ris arm pulling her away from Minjae and from everyone else.
"Why are you hanging out with him today?" Yeop Jeong asks.
Soo-Ri thinks carefully about her answer a moment "I can't tell you yet. Just know that I know what I'm doing and I'm not going to slack in this school" She says and removes his hand from her arm and instead holds his hand with her own. "By the way how do you think the schools biggest idiots messed up that bad?"
