21. Break

Soo-Ri wakes up with a pounding headache. She groans as she tries to roll over but there's a pair of arms around her. These arms feel different however. This isn't Yeop Jeong. Quickly she sits up to see Minjae laying there beside her. The two are also completely naked. "Good morning" Minjae mumbles as he begins opening his eyes.

"Did we- There's no way"

"You don't remember? Uh yeah" Minjae mumbles still half asleep. "Yeah last night we went out for chicken and beer and came back here" He says sitting up now. "You really dont remember?" Soo-Ri shakes her head "That's fine. I'll go back to my room now" He says just as the door opens. Very quickly Soo-Ri covers herself with the blanket and looks towards the door to see Yeop Jeong.

"Wait I can explain-" Soo-Ri starts to say but Yeop Jeong just walks back out of the door. "Shit" She mumbles as she gets up quickly now ignoring the pounding pain in her head and the pain in her shoulder. She quickly throws some sweat pants and a teeshirt on and walks to his room. She tries to open the door but it's locked. She doesn't have a key to his room but he has one to her room since they spend most of their time in her room anyways. She knocks on the door "Yeop Jeong please open the door. Let me explain" She says. The door opens and instead of just his emotionless face Yeop Jeong looks angry.

"What's there to explain. You two obviously hooked up last night"

"Look honestly I don't remember. Last I remember we were drinking and eating fried chicken then I wake up with him beside me. I think he's just making this up. I would never cheat on you Yeop Jeong. I love you

"Are you sure?" He says and lightly taps a spot on her neck oppisite of her bandages. "Because I know I didn't leave this mark. Next time you want to cheat maybe don't do it in your room and maybe don't let him leave hickeys on you" Yeop Jeong says and slams the door in her face.

"All studets and professors are to meet in the assembly hall" An announcement comes over the intercom system and Soo-Ri groans. She goes there quickly being one of the first to show up as everyone files in and lines up in rows.

In front of them are people Soo-Ri has never seen before and Bup Gong. "Until now Moorim School hasn't had discipline or validation. You all have too much freedom. During this tournament we all some hardships but we won't let that shake us. Headmaster Hwang Moo Song is no longer in charge here. Starting today the school will be making big changes starting with new teachers. These are now your new professors" He says gesturing to the three others with him. Are they firing the old teachers?

"I will now be in charge of Martial arts education. My name is Kim Sook. This school will no longer be a refuge or playground. During the Tournament everyone had to give up and that was because of the teaching method" The woman says.

"Everyone is dismissed" Bup Gong says and everyone starts to scatter. Some of the students still haven't come back yet but most of her friends have.

"Soo-Ri. Let's get some food" Shannon says putting an arm around Soo-Ri.

"I'm hungry too. I can make us something to eat" Jenny says and the three girls begin to talk towards the kitchen.

"Can I join you guys?" Choi Ho asks in a softer voice than he normally uses.

Soo-Ri looks at him and the sad expression on his face. Who is she to judge for anything now. She just hooked up with the man who tried to kill her. Soo-Ri moves Shannon's arm off her shoulder and hugs Choi Ho. "I forgive you. And I'm sorry if I ever made you feel upset or like you don't belong at this school. You do belong here" She tells him. The four of them now walk to the kitchen.

"You guys go chat. I'll cook the food" Minjae says walking into the kitchen with them. Soo-Ri just looks away from him. How could she look at him the same after what they had done? He tried to kill her and yet she allowed him in her bed.

"I'm fine with it" Shannon shrugs and drags the rest of them to the dining room to sit.

"Are you okay?" Jenny asks noting how Soo-Ri seems more distracted now.

"Yeah I'll be okay it's just been a long day already" Soo-Ri fakes a laugh and looks down at her hands. She runs her fingers along the couple ring on her finger and smiles sadly. Would he continue with her after this?

"We need to talk" Soo-Ri hears a voice behind her. She knows it's Yeop Jeong.

"Can it wait?" She asks a bit quietly not moving.

"No" He says in a more harsh tone and Soo-Ri gets the hint. She walks with him now and the two go to his room where they can talk without anyone else listening in. "I didn't want to talk about it this morning because I was too angry but I've had time to think"

"Please Yeop Jeong I'm so sorry" Soo-Ri says. She can feel the tears forming in the corner of his eyes but his face remains blank. Soo-Ri watches as he takes the ring off his finger and she feels her heart break into a thousand pieces. "Yeop Jeong please-"

"Take yours off" He tells her his own ring now in his hand.

"But-" She tries to say but he just cuts her off.

"You said if you took it off you wouldn't put it back on right? So take if off now. I don't want you to put it back on" The words from his mouth were expressionless and cold.

"Please I love you" Soo-Ri tries to say the tears spilling from her eyes now.

"Stop lieing to me and take off the ring. You told me he tried to kill you then you sleep with him. I don't trust anything you say now. Take off the ring and get out of my room!" Yeop Jeong yells at her now causing her to jump. She looks down and slowly removes the ring from her finger her hands shaking. He snatches the ring from her hands and she leaves the room.
