19. Chaos

"Fine" Soo-Ri says with a nod ready to continue to fight him.

"Choi Ho!" Chi Ang yells and Choi Ho hesitates now and his face begins to change as he looks around. Suddenly he drops the knife and walks off of the arena platform. Soo-Ri walks back to the area where everyone else is and Soo-Ri just plops herself down into a chair with a heavy sigh. Right now she refuses to allow herself to show any emotions but it was still difficult. Her best friend just tried to kill her. Or maybe he was only trying to hurt her and nothing more?

"Soo-Ri are you okay?" Shannon asks rushing to her side and to look at the cut.

"I'm fine" She says waving Shannon off.

"Why did Choi Ho attack you like that?" Jenny asks.

"Come with me please" Teacher Yoo Di says and Soo-Ri nods and follows her to the infirmary. "If you are comfortable with it I need you to take your shirt off so I can bandage your shoulder as well" She says. Soo-Ri just nods and takes her shirt off then sits on one of the tables. She bandages her shoulder as well as her neck with a more flexible bandage so Soo-Ri wouldn't struggle in the competition. "With your shoulder like this you're only going to hurt yourself more. You can give up now there's nothing wrong in it" She says and Soo-Ri shakes her head.

"I can't. I want to do all I can to win. If I give up now I'll never forgive myself" she says putting her shirt back on now. "Thank you for being worried though. I will be careful" Soo-Ri assures her with a nod and leaves the room.

Soon it's again time for her to fight. Soo-Ri rubs her shoulder a bit before entering the room. "Still hurting princess?" Minjae asks her in more of a mocking tone. She just ignores him as the two walk in together. Standing opposite of them now is Sun Ah and Yeop Jeongs brother. The buzzer goes off and instead of Soo-RI going after Sun Ah she goes after Yeop Jeongs brother. It would be much more satisfying to her if she were to beat him now of course she would also need to apologize to Yeop Jeong for taking the chance away from him. The fight starts and Soo-Ri can tell very quickly that she's at a disadvantage. He matches her in skill however he's much stronger than her. The two continue to fight throwing punches and kicks to each other. Most of them Soo-Ri blocks or dodges and he blocks most of hers. Finally He grabs her arm and twists it behind her back. She hesitates a moment before she makes a step to fight against him but he just applies more pressure and she can feel her shoulder dislocate. She just clenches her jaw and he lets go of her arm only for him to kick her back knocking her off of the arena and to the ground. Slowly she gets up holding her shoulder and looks to the spectators and to where her mom is but now surprised to see next to her is her father. He just shakes his head and Soo-Ri storms out of the gym.

"Soo-Ri" Yeop Jeong says and tries to grab her arm to stop her from walking past him but she just quickly pulls her arm from him.

"What" She says a little more harsh than she means to.

"Are you okay?"

"My best friend just cut into my neck and your brother dislocated my shoulder. My father also finally showed up just in time to see me loose. So you tell me how my day is going Yeop Jeong" She says and walks to the dining room again. She sits herself down in one of the seats with a blank expression watching the rest of the fights as they go past one by one. She mostly zones out while watching them until she notices something off. Yeop Jeongs brother has Brass Knuckles on. She sits up a bit more straight as she now pays attention. She watches as Yeop Jeong goes to throw a punch only for his brother to punch him in the knee then the chest. She can tell from his expression it hurts a lot but Yeop Jeong keeps fighting. He goes to punch Yeop Jeong again but this time Yeop Jeong stops him and knocks him to the ground. Yeop Jeong gets on top of him and begins to punch him repeatedly with a look of pure anger and hatred in his face. "Stop" She says quietly knowing there was nothing she can do in this moment no matter how much she wants to stop him. He continues to hit his brother dispite now others yelling at him to stop. Sun Ah tries to stop him but he just throws her off and continues to hit his brother. Unable to watch anymore she gets up and heads towards her room.

"Hey wait up-" Minjae says following after Soo-Ri.

"Whatever you have to say can it wait till tomorrow?" Soo-Ris voice is low now as she feels completely drained of energy.

"Your shoulder is dislocated. At least let me pop it back into place before you go back to your room" He says and Soo-Ri frowns.

"Why are you suddenly nice?" She asks and turns her shoulder to him. He pops it back into place causing her to groan in pain.

"I'm not. That hurt didn't it? Then I'm satisfied enough... For now" He tells her and walks away leaving Soo-Ri there frowning. She goes to her room now and throws herself on the floor on the pile of blanets looking over at the clothes Yeop Jeong left in her room folded neatly on the bed that was bare with only a fitted sheet on it. Although the teachers didn't encourage Soo-Ri and Yeop Jeong sleeping in the same room they more seemed to just look the other way and pretend to not notice. Slowly Soo-Ri notices the noise level growing louder and louder in the once quiet hallway and she goes to the door opening it to see what's going on. She sees people walking with their parents bags in hand.

"What's going on?" Soo-Ri asks Nadet as he walks past her room.

"Everyones parents are making them return home because of what's going on" He says and walks away.

"Soo-Ri!" She hears her mother yell and sees her mother walking straight for her. "Pack your things you are leaving this school right now" She says walking into her room and looking around. She spots the blankets on the floor and shakes her head. "So you've been sleeping on the floor? What has this school done to you?" She suddenly stops and Soo-Ri looks to see what shes looking at. She notices the clothes then stands between her mom and her line of sight on the bed.

"I'm not leaving this school" Soo-Ri tells her mother.

"Why? So you can continue to sleep on a floor with your boyfriend who just beat that other kid way more than he needed to? Look at you. Your neck was cut today" Soo-Ri looks towards the door to see Chi Ang.

"Chi Ang tell her. We can't leave this school" Soo-Ri says to her brother.

"We want to stay here" Chi Ang says standing beside his sister now.

"I'm calling your father" She mumbles and pulls out her phone making a phone call. She turns away from the two as she begins talking on the phone and Soo-Ri and Chi Ang both just sit on the bed together. Soo-Ri lays her head on Chi Angs shoulder with a sigh.

"Do you think she will make us leave?" Chi Ang asks.

"I think dad will make us stay actually" Soo-Ri says.

"How did this day end up so messed up. You know it was dad that was behind what happened to Soon Duk?" He asks speaking a little more quietly now while their mom is still on the phone. Its obvious he doesn't want their mom to hear. Soo-Ri stays quiet causing Chi Ang to move his shoulder away from her so she will stop leaning on him. "That's crazy right?" He asks looking at his sister now and Soo-Ri just looks away from him. "We will deal with this after mom leaves"
