I opened the door, he stood there,the wind blowing his ebony black hair. He had really nice sharp features but the thing that stood out were his eyes. They seemed to be brown one moment and black the next. And he had flecks of gold in his eyes, it was as if he had stars in his eyes.

"Hey I'm Lex," he said, breaking my train of thoughts.

Gosh, his voice was smooth as honey.

"Um... can I help you?"

"I'm Lex, the guy who rented the basement room."

"Oh, I'm Octavia," I said as I let him inside. "Your room is down this staircase,the room on the right . There's a bathroom opposite your room. The kitchen is right down to hallway on your left and if you need any help you can contact my Mother or Stepfather.

17, single, went to Westchester High, going to Riverfell high ...

"Riverfell, interesting ..."

I scanned Lex's online profile. I disapprove of stalking someone online but I just needed to make sure that I wasn't going to be housemates with some creepy pervet or something like that.

~~~
I took out the pan of lasagne from the oven. The smell filled the kitchen.
He sauntered into the kitchen and propped himself on top of the island.
It was Lex.
I looked away sheepishly amd flushed as I recalled his online profile. Hopefully, he didn't know.
"Hey."
"Hi."
An awkward silence filled the air.
"Is Lex short form for anything?" I asked, breaking the wall of silence.
"Nope! Just Lex." he said
"Really? I've never heard that name before."
That got us into a long and interesting topic about unusual names. I must admit, Lex is a really interesting person to talk to.
"Want to walk to school tomorrow together?" Lex asked.
"Sure, but how did you know what school I'm going to?"
Lex just smiled coyly.
I could feel everyone's eyes on Lex and I as we walked down Riverfell High's hallway. They were either checking Lex out or staring at me in shock.
This was going to be a long day at school.
"After you grab your schedule from the office,just go to whatever period it states there, the classroom number should be there too." I shouted over the noise of the hallway.
"Alright, see you later!" He grinned.
I clunked my books onto the table, I was sick and tired of whispered conversations behind my back about who the new boy was. I took out my biology textbook and started revising.
Someone slid into the empty seat beside me.
"Hey."
I could recognise that voice anywhere, he was the last person I wanted to see. It was Brad.
"Mind if I take this seat." He asked.
I nodded, but deep down I really wanted him to sit at the chair furthest away from me as possible.
He started talking about what he did last summer, trying to engage me in a conversation but I just wasn't interested. I was beginning to regret letting him sit there.
Luckily I spotted Lex walking into the classroom. I quickly took this opportunity to escape the awkward conversation.
"Lex, what are you doing here?"
"Apparently, because I haven't taken biology class yet, they had to put me in an easier level before placing me in advance." Lex frowned.
Brad stared at him for a while and then looked back at me.
I introduced Lex and Brad to each other.
An awkward silence filled the air and was broken by the ringning of the school bell.
Thank God lesson was starting.
Finally, I was home. I tossed my bag onto the bedroom floor. I grabbed my stack of homework and started working on them.
***
Halfway through, I remembered that I left my Biology textbook in my locker.
I went downstairs to see if I could borrow Lex's.
I went down the stairs and found the door left slightly ajar. I felt a bit curious about what he was doing and peeped in. I saw the weirdest thing ever, Lex was sitting in the middle of the bed but the furniture around it was hovering a few centimetres above the ground and several orbs, which kept changing colours, floating over and under Lex's out stretched palm. He seemed to be in deep concentration.
He looked up.
I quickly dashed towards the stairs, I didn't want him to know that I was there.
Right before I could reach the stairs, I felt an iron like grip on my wrist that pulled me back.
"Shit."
