Quick heads up: All parts are told from Remus's POV unless it says otherwise and the story takes place during 5th year.....k cool...enjoy the story.
September 1st
My dad hasn't gone to 9 ¾ with me in years. I think he's embarrassed that I'm one of them: a werewolf. I don't remember a time where he didn't flinch when I got angry or ignored me constantly. My mom is a bit better, but she doesn't understand this part of me. She's a muggle. But at least she tries, which is more than I can say for my father.
It's been a long summer. The wolf was angry at me this summer. Without the marauders, it hurt me a lot more. I had a new scar. Across my left hand and down my arm. But at least I finally grew. I was tired of being the second shortest.
I had tried to pull a Sirius. I was taller, had messy eyeliner on...i guess that's it. I wasn't a "pretty" type of tall. I was lanky and skinny and my eyeliner wasn't cool. It was a failed attempt to get some sort of reaction out of my dad. Plus the stuff looked shit on me anyways.
I walked down the aisle of the train looking for the marauders usual compartment. It was odd to see the new kids here every year. Small first years, each one scared and panicked. Just as much as I was my first year.
"Lily!" I exclaimed, opening up the compartment and giving her a large hug. "I missed you this summer."
"I missed you too." She sat back down setting her book on the seat. "I've got a ton of book recommendations. I practically spent the entire summer at the library."
"Same here. Something about the smell of books and the sound of pencils is just calming." I said, with a small smile. "Don't tell Sirius or James I said that. I think I'd be ridiculed for two weeks straight."
"Don't tell James what? That you two nerds are sitting in a compartment together and therefore having some large affair." Marlene said, dramatically opening up the compartment door and pulling Dorcas inside.
Lily burst out laughing and I chuckled awkwardly. "Maybe if we told James that he would leave me alone."
"And I would be dead by morning," I replied. "Leaving you a free lady again."
"Are you implying that you and Lily are dating?" Dorcas asked, obviously joking.
"Oh, of course. I'm deeply in love with Lily Evans. Everything she says and does bewilders me." I said putting my hand to my heart.
"Ew you sound like James." I laughed and took out my notebook to continue writing some silly daydream I had the night previous.
Marlene and Dorcas were sitting in the corner laughing over a piece of parchment and Lily had dived right back into her book.
"Fear not!" James loudly exclaimed, walking into the compartment, "the rest of the marauders are here!"
I looked up and chuckled. I met Sirius' gaze for a moment before quickly looking back down at my notebook.
"For you Evans." James handed Lily a daisy and sat down next to her.
Lily rolled her eyes and went back to looking at her book. "You didn't decline it." Lily ignored him. "Pads, you gonna sit down?" James asked, looking towards his friend laughing.
I looked back towards Sirius who looked quickly away from me. "I'm taking my sweet time." Sirius said, sitting next to me and rolling his eyes.
Marlene whispered something in Dorcas's ear and they both giggled.
"Jesus Remus, you look tall from sitting. How much did you grow?" Lily said looking up towards me.
"It's not like I measured it." I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Well go back to back with James."
"Why me?" James asked.
"Because you're the tallest." He shrugged and stood up and Remus did the same next to him.
"No fucking way." Sirius said, "You're taller than Prongs."
