I was always a free spirit, did what I wanted, and didn't care about the consequences of who I hurt. Some might call me cold but not feeling helps control the pain.
When I was five, my mom and I went grocery shopping. We didn't know that only one of us would make it out, and since I'm the one telling the story, you know which one of us made it out. That was the first time death visited. He was just a shadow, but I knew he was there.
After my mom died, my dad got into drinking, and that was the first time he hurt me. I was only seven at the time. I endured all the pain he put me through, and I could say anything about it because he was my dad, and I still loved him.
When I turned 16, it got worse, and then he raped me. At the time, I didn't know what was happening, but I do now, and so when I turned 18, I packed everything I needed and ran as fast as I could and never looked back.
Like most people, when dealing with the pain, I bottled it all up and locked it in the deepest part of my mind, and never opened it.
AN - let me know if you prefer longer chapters but less of them or shorter chapters but more of them.
