SPYING ON YOUR SON
During the long drive, into Seoul Nani notices how beautiful the city was observing the busy individuals walking about obviously they were attending their jobs or school. Nani thought “If I had to go out and buy groceries I would be lost in the matter of seconds,” staring at the stores until she spot blue and green building sign written “Wacky Town,” there Nani high school students entering that book store.
“What’s Wacky Town,” Nani questioned.
“Uh, that’s most popular comic book store in Seoul.” Leo answered.
Nani didn’t expect that, but she nodded and mumbled “Oh,” briefly soon Leo asked. “If you want to visit that place, I suggest you take this,” he handed Nani a Korean and Hangul basic tourist guide book along with a pepper mint spread.
“What I am doing with pepper mint spread can,” Nani chuckled as Leo assured “It will come in handy trust me, a young girl on the streets of Seoul that isn’t Korean is mostly to end up rape, drunk and dead.”
“You serious,” Nani muttered in disbelief with jaw open in surprise when Leo giggled “It might be exaggeration but its real.”
Out of nowhere a voiced spoke “I’ll be watching over you”, Nani jump and asked “Leo did you say something.”
“Nah, not yet why,” Leo questioned his sight on the traffic in front of him as buzz his horn while Nani didn’t reply but sighed in thought “That’s strange”, closing her eyes plug in her earphones listening to five seconds of summer “Wherever You Are,” leaning the right side of head and ear onto glass window humming.
Once the traffic was over Leo speed off, on the free road turning the right corner into high class neighborhood, when Nani began opening her eyes to see a beautiful cream and white Italy design house surrounded with spring lilies blooming.
“Amazing,” Nani beamed.
Leo laughed, “That’s my house, where you’ll be staying Nani.” He informed, as Nani jaw went open in disbelief, when she uttered.
“You seriously,” Nani blinked.
“Yes Nani, I am.” Leo assured, driving up the corner in parking area side the house, but the grates were close, suddenly Leo whip out his phone began dialing a number and then place it by his right ear waiting someone to answer, soon Sumo voice beams up.
“Dad where are you, I’m going to be late again.” Sumo mentioned.
“I’m here; just open the grates so I can drive in.” Leo replied.
“Is Aunt Nani with you?” Sumo questioned.
“Sumo,” Leo annoyingly said.
“Okay, okay.” Sumo responded and hang up, then grates went open as Leo remove from the parking spot driving inside while grates closes from behind, soon Leo parked the car beside the sidewalk.
“Nani, let’s go.” Leo commanded.
“Was that Sumo?” Nani stared at him.
“Yeah it was he was asking about you.” Leo explained and then added, “He seems to be pretty excited to see you.”
“Oh my gosh, I’m doom.” Nani sighed.
“Sumo has change a lot over these years his became gentler with girls, I have notice from afar.” Leo assured.
“You were spying on your son.” Nani corrected.
“I wasn’t but stalking was the right term to use.” Leo sale out himself, “Damn, well yeah.”
“That’s just pitiful Leo.” Nani teased while laughing.
“Oh come on, it’s that bad. I’m a father for peek sack I can’t help it but to worry about his little hinny.” Leo pouted.
“Awe, such an over protective daddy,” Nani joked.
“Ha, ha,” He rolled his eyes.
“I’m kidding Leo, but there will be a day you won’t be able to protect him from a specific mistake in his life.” Nani warned, opening the passenger door exiting the vehicle and close the door then Leo followed and answered.
“You’re right I guess.” Leo shrugged, and then smiled, approaching the stair porch walking up it and presses the front door bell. Suddenly the door went open to reveal young boy apparently Leo’s look alike exactly son Sumo, appeared to be wearing his school uniform eating a peanut and jelly sandwich.
“What took you so long?” Sumo frowned, and then muttered, “Dad.”
“Don’t be like that.” “Say hello to your Aunt Nani.” Leo beamed.
Sumo sucked underneath his breath, walking off, “Hi, bye.” He waved from behind.
“Sumo did it properly or else I’ll your mother you disrespect her sister.” Leo warned, obviously bribed.
Sumo stops within his footsteps and groaned, “Dad.” “Whatever, Hey Aunty Nani long time though see mate.” He fakes smiled.
“Yeah, you too,” Nani replied.
“Well that’s settle,” Leo paused looking at his wrist watch it was already nine o’clock. “We’re late.”
“Oh, now you say it.” Sumo exclaimed dramatically raising his arms in the air, the grabbed his bag pack off the dining table.
“I didn’t know. That we were still late.” Leo explained scratching the back of his neck, when Sumo yelled.
“Hurry up dad let’s go, so I can get detention for tiredness again.” Sumo sighed.
“I won’t be able to drop you to school,” Leo stares at Nani whose eyes widen when Sumo hissed.
“What you mean won’t be able to.” Sumo stopped redirecting his gaze realizing his father was looking at Nani who swallowed hardly.
“Dad, she’s not driving me to school right.” Sumo asked.
“Yes she is.” Leo corrected.
“What!” Nani and Sumo voice echoed the entire in surprise.
“Leo, I barely know anywhere in Seoul how can I drive Sumo to school when I don’t even the roads.” Nani retorted.
“You’ll figure it out; with the help of Sumo anyways I have to get going so bye.” Leo left walking out the door living.
