Note: Hisoka and Illumi are the same age in this story.
Another note: At first I wanted to try and keep this story as canon as possible but that was just too hard. I thought it'd be more fun to write what I wanted to see the characters do rather than what Togashi would have them do. ;) Enjoy!

Hisoka stood silently with a frown on his face. Everyone at Heaven's Arena cheered for their undefeated champion. What an unworthy opponent, that was boring, Hisoka sighed. He walked off the ring and into the crowd, his fans swarmed him but he ignored their screams and headed up to his room. At just 16 years old, he was already a floor master and it had only taken him a few weeks to rise through the ranks. He laid down on his bed and stared at the ceiling, "What am I supposed to do now?" His room was pretty clean for a 16 year old living on his own, except for the hundreds of fallen card towers that were scattered around the place. He wasn't tired but he felt a great burden on his shoulders. He hated days like this. Days where he didn't have enough to do to distract himself from how lonely he was, he had never had a friend before. Or at least a friend he hadn't killed, he only talked to people he was interested with, people he wanted to fight. But in the end the fights were always the same and Hisoka would come out on top.
Clearing the thoughts from his head he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV to watch the current fights going on in the floors below. He stopped at a certain fight on floor 186 that caught his interest. It was between a large sumo-wrestling looking man and a young boy with porcelain skin and pitch-black hair. The boy's eyes were nothing more than voids of darkness and he wore no emotion on his face as he stepped onto the arena to face the much larger man. Hisoka sat up a little straighter and his gaze followed the young boy.
"He looks like he's my age," whispered Hisoka. The fight began and the large man ran towards the boy, his height was indeed threatening but it was clear that the man could not use nen. The boy dodged under his attack and in a flash appeared behind the man, sticking a needle in his neck. Instantly the man went down and didn't even flinch.
"He's dead?" Hisoka's eyes widened with curiosity, he thought he was the only one who killed his opponents. The boy stood still, he continued to wear an emotionless face and he calmly walked off the arena, disappearing into the crowd. Hisoka turned off the TV and ran downstairs, he didn't know why but he had to meet this boy. Something about him fascinated Hisoka. He rushed to the elevator and let it take him to floor 186. His keen eyes noticed a black aura swiftly maneuvering through the crowds of people and he chased it, too excited to turn on his hatsu. He followed the aura into an alley and his anticipation to meet the young boy distracted him from being aware of his surroundings. All of a sudden he lost sight of the boy and he stopped in the alley, looking around with a disappointed face.
"Hey!" he pouted. "Where'd you go!" In a flash he was pinned hard against the ground.
"Who are you!" a voice quietly but sternly breathed in Hisoka's face. Hisoka looked up and his eyes shone.
"I found you!" he gleamed. Now that he had a good look at the boy's face, his body shuddered a little. His eyes held cold black pools of nothingness and it was frightening.
"Who are you!" the boy demanded. "I'll kill you right now!" The boy had his whole body on top of Hisoka with a pin on Hisoka's throat. He had a very slender body and even though he was strong he looked slightly translucent which made him appear weak.
He was the opposite of Hisoka.
Hisoka had strong muscle forming in his arms, crazy pink hair, and eyes that shone like gold. He had eyes that were ablaze of fire and passion. They were dancing eyes; playful eyes; eyes that smiled and sparkled and screamed with bloodlust. Without saying a word, the boy merely gazed at Hisoka's face. His eyes were so beautiful and his gaze was so strong that the boy became mesmerized and loosened his grip a little on Hisoka's body.
Even in the awkward position, Hisoka acted like everything was completely normal. He put on a small, non-threatening smile and began to speak.
"I saw you fight. You're pretty good...I'm Hisoka."
