Percy's POV
I didn't want to bring mortals into this. I didn't want to bring my family into this. But a prophecy is a prophecy.
We met them a few floors down (all of them have been to Tartarus. None of them are going to use an elevator) to a large gym filled with weights, punching bags, other things I don't actually know the name of. I don't think I've ever actually been to a mortal gym. Have I? I should ask mom if we ever went to a gym when I was younger. The closest thing I can think of is the arena at camp. Camp is still a bit of a mess right now, we should hurry this up. Oh Hades why are they looking at me? "Sorry what's going on?" I ask. The Avengers look at me like all of my old teachers. Disappointed
Annabeth and Nico give me the normal 'Really Seaweed Brain?' look only...Annabeth said it out loud. "Sorry Wise Girl." I apologize sheepishly. She sighs.
"The Avengers decided on hand to hand. One of us against Steve, otherwise known as Captain America."
'Oh' I mouth. "Poor Steve, he can't make it against Annabeth hand to hand. How sad." I say stuffing my hands in my pockets. Everyone, including my cousin and girlfriend, give me confused looks.
"Percy you idiot," Nico says, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his index and thumb, "I suck at hand to hand," he says pointing to himself, "and yes Annabeth is great at hand to hand but no match for Steve's strength. No offense Annabeth."
"None taken. Its the truth." She says nodding in agreement.
That just confused me. "Then who's fighting Steve?" I asked innocently. There was a very very long pause.
"Go fight Steve you humble little δκατα! Go fight Steve!" Nico yells at me.
"Fine then I will." I say walking away to the mat in front of us. Steve was already standing there.
"Okay then kid lets-"
"Don't call me kid." I say sternly. Steve flinches back surprised. I see the other Avengers flinched back in my peripheral too. I don't know why but I do know that I can literally feel Nico smirk his cocky, evil smirk.
"Alright Percy we can start when you're ready." I quickly shifted my weight into my fighting stance.
"Alright Stevie, I'm ready."
