***************
Library ! It's such a peaceful abode for thinkers and readers. The book-locked place is a seat of pages absorbed with wisdom and chirpings of words which generates a weird sensation of uncanny satisfaction. A library tends to provide many advantages .
It is a perfect place for nerds and research enthusiasts as well as a hideout for secret lovers to romance 'undisturbed-ly'. Not only that , a library is an idea keeper too, maybe the most resource containing place after 'Google' ofcourse. For Prachi , visiting a library was a hobby , more like a craze .
Her spot to go in her 'always list'.
She loves to drool over the bleached white to grey shades of pressed machine made pages. She reminisces the way her classmates used to make a mock of her for being attracted towards such a boring place.
Little did they know that this Library would have been the most beautiful place if seen from her lenses.
It was the recess time and more than a half an hour was left for her next class to commence and.... how could she think about NOT exploring the library of such a Grandeur college. She had seen in movies and pictures , the library being made from red - brown illuminated and laminated cedar wood or oak wood or pine wood , ughh! maybe rosewood too , as a library smelled roses for her.
On a serious note , she always had a weird craving to visit a large library - one which she can never dream of . She used to be fascinated by libraries shown in films , especially the fairy tales which hoist a large library for the princesses with mini staircases and moreover a pulley system too. Goosebumps!
She always wanted to visit such libraries to view the high stocked stacks of dreamy books . Alas!
Afterall it's imaginary . This was the only thing which tempted this feminist Prachi to dream herself as a princess. The task right now at her tips is to land in the mighty college's grand library. She didn't want to get disappointed.
She could feel the books calling her . As she stepped into that heaven , she could even hear the minute sound of wind . She could spot people leaning over the drowsy world. She could spot the grand framework and the landscape the Library portrayed through peace . It was pious .
The portraits of notable writers hung there on the white-cream pastel shaded wall.
Shakespeare - Douglas - Wordsworth - Frost - Shelley - Tolstoy - Ruskin - Agatha - Tagore - Andrienne - Kant - and the portraits continue on the never ending Great Wall of Library".Her gaze shifted to the woodworks, the shelves. The plywood coated shelves were smooth and dusty with a glistening laminated finish. The Library was divided into sections with numerous compartments and several shelves. It seemed like a maze.
She was confused to choose the first spot to be unravelled.
Then , she made up her mind. "Fiction" . And basically "Romance" particularly for this hormonal-ly developing girl who has just finished her teens , just a year ago , seemed the best part of interest now.She browsed her eyes through the aisles looking for the section she wanted. She didn't want to lose her hope and neither wanted to get fatigued before exploring this place .
It was hard to spot. She wanted to enquire the head librarian at the reception but the seat was vacant.
The staff had gone for their break.
Fate had its own ways.
