A New Beginning (Chapter 1)

The world of Miitopia was a peaceful place. It was a place where Miis could live in peace and harmony. At least... that's how it was before. A wicked beast known as the Dark Lord swiped the Miis' faces clean off. Not only that, the fiend put the faces on monsters. Everyone was terrified. Well, that all would change...

"Ah, what a beautiful day!" The adventurer said while breathing in the clean air. Her name was Maggie. She was a young girl, yearning for excitement. She was enjoying a calm, sunny day. Until...

"Whuh... what in the world?!" She had just saw two pairs of eyes, floating in mid air. It wasn't long before when the eyes floated on a near butterfly. "Eeek! Yipes!" Maggie ran and ran until she spotted a nearby town. It was named Greenhorne. It was a peaceful place. Nothing bad happened there.

When she got there, she saw a person. She walked up to him. "Ah! Hello, adventurer! My name is Alone! Nice to meet you!" Maggie introduced herself, then told him about the butterfly. "A butterfly... with a human face? Gyahaha! You've got to be kidding. Greenhorne's a calm and beautiful town. You can stay here until you recover from whatever sickness you have." Maggie was confused. "Sickness?" "Well, obviously you've got to be sick to think a butterfly has a human face!" Alone chuckled. Maggie made an angry face at him. "Hahaha! Haha... hah... ahem." Alone stopped laughing.

After that, Maggie ran into a cheery granny. Oh, joyous day! Oh! Adventurer! Why do you look so sad? Come on, give us a smile! You know you want to!" She said. "My name is Suji, by the way. What's yours?" Suji asked with a warm smile on her face. "My name is Maggie." Maggie said. "That's a nice name! You can stay here for as long as you like." Suji said.

When Maggie talked to all the townsfolk, including the mayor, she noticed something strange going on. There was a glow in the sky "What in the world is that?!" Alone freaked out. "Gah!" The mayor was scared, too. "Mwa hahaha!" An evil voice said. The fiend appeared in the sky. "I am the Dark Lord Judge Judy!" The beast laughed. "I've come to steal faces, and I'm starting with you, people of Greenhorne!" "M-mommy!" A child screamed. The Dark Lord then took most of the people's faces. "There we go! Hope you like a world full of wordless terror! Buh bye! Mwa hahaha!" The monster disappeared into the darkness. Maggie was shivering with fear, but tried to be strong. The mother of the child ran up to Maggie. "Adventurer! You must help my little Natsuki!" She was shaken. "Please! I'll even give you our family good luck heirloom!" Maggie thought about it, and she accepted the challenge. She picked up the charm, and went on her way.

When Maggie walked through Easin Hills, she spotted the Dark Lord. "Mwa hahaha! Is someone trying to be a hero?" He chuckled. "Give Natsuki's face back!" Maggie's heroic side started to show. "What, this runt? Well... I suppose I could give this one back to you... if you can fight!" The Dark Lord put Natsuki's face on a slime. "I'll be off! Mwa haha!" He disappeared in an instant. "Er..." Maggie was unsure of what to do. Suddenly, the family heirloom was glowing. And a voice was coming from it.

"Maggie... Maggie, can you hear me?" The voice asked. "Uhm... yes. Who are you?!" Maggie was scared. "You might not believe me, but... I am a god." He said. "Whaaat?!" Maggie was surprised. "Yes, yes... I know. Now, it seems you're in a bit of a pickle, my child. Fortunately, I've got the solution." The god showed Maggie a list of jobs. "You can pick from any one of these, Maggie." "What are these?" Maggie asked with a confused look on her face. "These are jobs," The god said. "You pick one of these to deal with the Dark Lord's fiends. And get that child's face back!" "Um... I pick... popstar!" Maggie picked the popstar job. She transformed into the uniform. "Great! Now, go!" The voice echoed.

Maggie was ready. She went up there, and attacked the slime. It attacked back. "Ow..." Maggie's health and energy was drained. But she didn't give up. She attacked the slime three more times! It was dead. "Wahoo!!" Natsuki's face said. "I'm free!!!"

"Oh, my poor Natsuki... are you okay?" The mother had a worried look on her face. "I'm okay, mom!" Natsuki smiled. "Oh, thank the stars! ...And thank YOU, kind traveler!" The mother said. "Here, have something for your travels." The mother gave Maggie 500 gold.
