‘Who are you' the words seemed to be so heavy for Zain to digest.
Zain murmured to himself: Her appearance is the same as my mother’s. How come she not be her!
He took out a locket from his neck and opened it and had a look at the lady hugging his neck in the photograph.
It was a photo of his childhood. His mother was young then. Now she has turned old. But the face structure remained same. The past's face and present's played into his mind.
Zain looked towards her in disbelief and said to himself: I'm almost sure that she is her. Why is she pretending!
Suddenly a man showed up, giving a disgusted look to Zain,
Man: I've been watching you for a long time. Why are you making trouble with my mother? What do you want?
Zain: She's my mother. (Eyes glittering with tears)
Lady: I've already told you that you got the wrong person!
Zain was about to say something, the man interrupted: Don't you hear what she's saying? As she has said, she's not your mother, then she's not. Why are you messing with her?
Zain: I believe, she is! Mom, you don't know how madly I have looked for you from that day.I've looked for you more than a thousand times, today I've found you at last. And now, you are saying that you are not my mother!
Man: Hey, what's your intention? If you don't want a fight, then leave.
Zain: Mom, it's me! Why are you pretending not to know me?
Man: Watch your mouth! Whom are you blaming for pretending? Hasn’t she cleared the matter? If you dare to harass my mom with another single word, I'll make you suffer.
A drop of tear fell from Zain's eyes. He froze.
Seeing him frozen, the man said,
: Come on mom, let's move. No point of staying here in this mess.
Zain wiped his tears abruptly and closed the locket and put it in his pocket instead of wearing.
Sameer was talking over the phone beside the light tree near the cafeteria. Zain ran to him.
Seeing Zain came to him, Sameer hung up the phone, saying : I'll discuss it later.
Sameer: Have you guys settled up? Where is she?
Zain: No,(a deep sigh) she never admitted to be my mother.
Sameer: What! I couldn’t understand.
Zain: I was almost sure, but she pretended to be the wrong person. Was she really not my mother? Someone else, having same appearance?!
Sameer was stunned by his words.
Sameer: (Thinking for a while)Hmmm... That makes sense, maybe that's the truth.
Zain stared at the lady's back with blurry eyes. Tears came out of his eyes.
Zain: (In a low and weak voice) Am I that much worthless, mom!
When she disappeared from his eyesight, Zain looked back to Sameer.
Zain: I'm sorry for troubling you. Next time you see her, please never report again. As she is not willing to see me, I will never appear in front of her. She must live the life she wanted. Who am I to make trouble, Sameer? Who am I?
Sameer: Forget it, Zain. Every child is cherished in their mother's heart. If she's really your mother, I think, she has her hardships.
Zain: If so, then why didn’t she call me once by my name or ask how I am, before that man appeared? Explain!
Sameer: Zain, cool down yourself. It's all my fault. I reported to you about the wrong person.
Zain: Stop blaming yourself!
Sameer: Huh...!(A sigh)
Hey, you said, someone appeared! Who's that man?
Zain: Don't know. It’s the first time I saw him, he was regarding himself to be her son!
Sameer: What!
Zain: Yeah, you heard it right. (A deep sigh)
It’s said that, what is lotted, cannot be blotted. I can't change the truth, let it be.
Sameer: Don't lose hope,Zain, everything will be fine.
Suddenly, Sameer remembered something and looked into his wrist watch.
Sameer: Hey, I have to report to a meeting in the office at 10:00 a.m. So I haven’t have enough time to accompany you. It's already 9:22, let's have the breakfast. Let's go!
Sameer put his hand on Zain's shoulder and gave a small amount of force to move forward. But Zain stood still.
Zain: I have no appetite. Already I've owed you a lot. Can you do me another favor?
Sameer: Are we strangers? Why are you hesitating! Split out.
Zain: Call me a taxi to the restaurant. Here's the phone.
(Everything is seeming unclear to Zain and he is walking imbalancely.)
Sameer reached his waist and hold him tightly.
Sameer: You're feeling unwell. Let me call a taxi to your home first. Your health matters most.
Zain: No,I'm fine.
Sameer called a taxi to Zain's home. When the taxi arrived,
Sameer:(To the driver) He's sick, please ensure him going home safely.
Driver: Rest assured, Mr. I'll be careful.
Zain got into the car, looked into Sameer's eyes with a grateful look and smiled a little.
Sameer: I wanted to accompany you but I have no choice. Take care of yourself. I'll come to you after the office. Don’t forget to text me after reaching home, okay?
Zain lightly nodded his head. Driver started the car. Sameer looked at the time in his wrist watch and left in a hurry.

In the car_
Zain lowered the window glass and looked outside. Morning breeze was touching his cheerless face. He took a deep breath in the fresh air. His eyes were fixed at the sky sight.
Zain(to himself) : Life is full of colors, isn’t it? Huh!(a mysterious smile) Let life go like it.
I was even refused by my mother, how worthless I am!What's the point of keeping this worthless life?
(Shaking his head) Hey! What am I thinking about?Light comes at the end of darkness. You have to be patient. Zain,no matter, how cold pains have grasped your heart, you have to warm your heart. You have to make your life worthy...
He who has nobody, has Almighty. Then what's the point of talking such nonsense! Huh!
Zain moved his eye-sight at the buildings passing by him at a gentle speed. Suddenly he remembered something.
Looking into the driver's eyes through the mirror,
Zain: Excuse me, I want to change the location.
Being astonished, the driver lightly turned his head,
Driver: Aren’t you going home?
