(Volume 3) Mythical Rose (Lost) (OLD)

Chapter 1: The Vytal Festival Tournament

(Dairoku's POV)

So, it was a few weeks after the Grimm invasion in Vale. Everything was quiet... almost too quiet... Ruby and I have gotten a lot closer to the point she'd sleep in my team's dorm with me every night; I just hope Yang, Weiss and Blake don't think she abandoned them. And Ruby's been a lot less shy with the thought of us being a couple which is good but also scary since she's getting very bold now, almost like Yang... Celeste and Weiss actually have been getting closer which hopefully means that they'll get together and Kuraime's opening up a lot more to us, especially to Ruby; I feel like those two are becoming best friends.

Anyways, I was currently with Ruby. We were at her home island, Patch and we were visiting the grave of Summer Rose. I was standing next to her as she spoke to her mother.

Ruby: Hey Mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Oh, Dad's here too! He's uh, you know... Dad. He's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you... I miss you too...

I took Ruby's hand into mine and smiled at her. She smiled back before turning back to her mother.

Ruby: Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her in line.

I raised an eyebrow at her to which she giggled.

Ruby: That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter! You can tell she's learned a lot from Dad! So are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates! Together, we form Team RWBY! And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. I made a bunch of new friends. I'm actually friends with the top ranked team in Beacon, Team RCST! A-And, I'm actually... dating their leader. His name is Dairoku Rein. He's a Phoenix Faunus and yes his wings are really soft and fluffy. He's actually my first friend at Beacon and he's kind of like a role model for me. He's a really strong fighter and an amazing person. He helped me become a good leader and he's always there to catch me when I fall. I can't describe how much I love him... He's actually here right now.

Me: Hello there Mrs. Rose. I'll just like to say that your daughter's the best thing that's happened to me in a while. Without her, I don't think I'd be here right now.

Ruby smiled before kissing me on my cheek. Then she turned back to her mother.

Ruby: I've also met some... let's just say, uh, odd teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys too! I guess it's like they say; like mother like daughter. I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early but uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow-

We heard a bark from behind us; it was Zwei and he was here with Taiyang, Ruby's father.

Ruby: Oh! Looks like Dad's back! I gotta go! He's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission. Wish me luck! It was good to talk.

She began to run off but she quickly noticed that I wasn't moving.

Ruby: Dairoku? What's wrong?

I faced her.

Me: Nothing. It's just, I would like to share a few words with your mother, if that's okay.

Ruby: Sure! Just don't take too long! I love you!

Me; Heh, I won't and love you too!

She ran off towards her dad as I turned around to face her grave... The grave of Summer Rose... 'Summer Rose – Thus Kindly I Scatter'... I sigh...
