There he was.
For the first time in a while, I saw him.
Standing there, burning holes through my head.
My gaze couldn't leave his.
He was close to me.
He was mine.Aria's POV:
It was just an ordinary day. I was out with some friends having a fun time, when I finally snapped out of my daydreaming to focus on what they were talking about.
"Have you seen how good Jake looks?"
"He's so hot."
Jake was in our friend group, theres quite a lot of us. Jake and I were never really close but we both new each other. I pretended to seem interested in what they were talking about as casual girl talk most of the time involved boys (unless they liked girls then we would talk about them too). However, it had been a long time since I last saw Jake. I was curious to see how he had changed.
"We should meet up with the boys! Jake will be there too." They said all smiley and giggling.
I just laughed and agreed with them, I couldn't help but feel giddy to see him; I'd never felt like that about him before. I brushed it off as nothing serious and walked with my girls to meet up with the boys. We spotted them about 10 minutes later walking towards us. My eyes roamed the group of boys looking to see if he was there, but I couldn't tell which one he was.
"Hey boys, hey Jake." My best friend silently squealed, forcing me to turn my head and starring right at him causing our eyes to meet.
He never stopped starring at me almost like he was starring into my soul. His eyes were already my favourite feature about him, a deep blue. I felt like I could loose myself starring at his eyes all day, they were mesmerising. In all honesty it was making me feel nervous but I didn't like him like that, or so I told myself a couple of times. A small smile crept upon my lips causing me to look to the floor, why was I acting so nervous?
He smiled back allowing me to know he saw me; crap.
Thats when he spoke to me for the first time, "Hey."
Hearing him speak for the first time sent chills down my spine. His voice was slightly deep but smooth almost causing me to choke. I felt butterflies in my stomach as he spoke, I looked up to him smiling back casually showing I wasn't ignoring him.
"Hello."
I was silently praying that my face had changed from the deep red it was before. I had never felt like this talking to anyone and I wasn't about to start feeling like this for him, he was just a boy. He was handsome, I will admit. Although; we were just friends and nothing more.
The rest of the day was spent with the group laughing and spending time together. Everyone was happy. I snuck a few glances at him here and there, sometimes he even starred back. I tried not to make it obvious I was looking at him but I was bad at that.
Darkness filled the sky bringing the stars and moon out, it was a full moon tonight. We all squeezed ourselves into a taxi and set off home. Luckily for me Jake was in the taxi with me and some of the girls. Some of them were all over them but he didn't look interested in them and continued to sneak a few glances at me.
It wasn't until me and the girls started talking and making jokes that he decided to join in. We were all having a nice conversation and laughing together. He had a good sense of humour and was able to keep the conversation going.
Eventually I got out of the taxi and headed upstairs to my room. Slipping on some pj's and wiping off my makeup. I sat and talked with my mum and dad for a while ordering some new clothes. Yet no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get my mind of Jake. His eyes getting lost in them, his voice was so smooth I could listen to it all day, his hair a soft dark brown colour. Hearing his laugh from the taxi made me smile. I couldn't help but feel warm inside whenever I thought about him and no matter how hard I tried i couldn't stop thinking about him.
I pushed these thoughts away, I could not fall for him and he couldn't fall for me. After all we were just friends, right?
