Aria's POV:
A few days had passed by, I spent some time on the phone to my cousin Delilah whilst spending some time with my parents. Rest assured I had a busy week spending time with everyone to which I didn't complain about because I enjoyed seeing and talking to everyone.
Today the group was going out again, Jake was going to be there. Since that day I haven't been able to get him out of my mind. He was a kind person who had a big heart; he just didn't show it a lot. It always had me thinking why did he shut everyone out?
I never asked him if something had happened of course because it wasn't my place to know, but I was curious to say the least.
Whilst pondering these thoughts I had realised i was quite far behind the group. I was a slow walker, but I wasn't going to catch up. I liked walking slow. It gave me time to think to myself and stay in my own bubble. I didn't stop thinking until I bumped into another persons hard chest.
"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going-" I look up to the person who I had knocked into immediately apologising only to realise it was him.
"Your a slow walker aren't you?" He says looking at me with a small smirk appearing on his face.
I couldn't help but blush from the way he looked at me. He'd been watching me, he waited for me. But why?
"Sometimes I am, but I don't mind walking behind everyone." I'd said smiling at him.
I still couldn't get over it, the way he looked at me. It had only been a couple of days since I had last spoke to him but there was never a time that I didn't think about him.
I'd noticed he started walking behind everyone with me, he was waiting for me.
"Oh you don't have to walk with me if you don't want to-" He'd cut me off by smiling and looking down to the floor, before facing me.
"I don't mind, you're worth waiting for."
My heart stopped at those words. What did he mean by that? Was I thinking this ahead too much? Whichever way he meant by it, it made me happy hearing him say it. Even though I knew we may not be anything more it was still nice having these small moments with him.
Afterwards the group found a place to sit down and have some ice cream since we had nothing else to do. I sat down next to my best friend Emily. We were talking just between us two when I noticed someone sitting across from us. Jake.
His body tensed up and looked angry, but when he noticed me starring he relaxed more and smiled. I couldn't help but smile to myself looking down. He seemed happy when he noticed I was looking at him. But I couldn't help but think that maybe something was bothering him? I would have asked more but it seemed wrong to ask, and I didn't want to put spotlight on him incase something was actually wrong and he didn't want to talk about it.
Everyone was walking back and talking amongst themselves. I didn't mind the silent walk back, I was too tired to socialise anyway. It was freezing and I stupidly was wearing a small jacket. I wrapped my arms around my shoulders until I felt a pair of strong arms wrap something warm around me, causing me to turn my head back.
"Don't give me your coat, you'll be cold." I said laughing trying to give it back to him.
"Take it you're freezing."
"But you'll be co-"
"I'm not going to take 'no' for an answer."
I sighed laughing in defeat keeping the coat wrapped around me. I really didn't like admitting defeat but with him it was different. I tried to look anywhere but at him, attempting to hide the blush growing on my face. I felt like a tomato.
We shared some small talk, it was mostly just us sneaking glances at each other without the other noticing. I loved the way I felt around him. I loved feeling the butterflies overwhelming me causing me to smile, but I didn't want to ruin the friendship we had.
As soon as I got home I had called my cousin Delilah to tell her everything that happened. I was overfilled with joy replaying the night over and over in my head. She was just as excited as I was. We talked for hours until we both headed to bed. I went to sleep that night thinking about Jake, with a huge smile spread across my face.
