A Stone and A Flower

My brain is on fire,

While my heart is cold.

I am a stone;

I can heat up easily

But I always turn cold.

Why can't I be a flower?

Must I be a stone?

I want color and perfume.

But I am only plain and dirty.

A flower is fragile.

A stone is sturdy.

Can't I just fit in.

The rest are all flowers.

I want to be an orchid but

Instead I am diamond.

I am invincible.

But really I want to crack.

What to do when you are

A stone...

If only I could change,

Morph into a beauty.

The diamond chips,

While the flower wilts.

The stone will stay forever,

While the flower dies.

I am immortal...

But really I want to be mortal.

I want to breathe.

I want to live.

I want to die.

I will be.

I will exist.

I will stay.

Instead of being a flower

I will proudly be a stone forever.
