Eva had made lunch for her and Chris, he was supposed to get home from University in about 10 minutes so she set up the table and waited for him to arrive. Since they started their relationship about two years ago, they had evolved a lot as individuals but also as a couple. They had learned their mechanics, their boundaries, and almost everything there was to know about one another.

Today was their anniversary, Eva was about to finish high school and Chris was about to finish his second year in Spanish studies. While waiting for his boyfriend to arrive, Eva browsed through her photos on the phone. From their very first FaceTime call to their very last date. She had enjoyed everything.

They were just now testing the waters of living together. While Chris owned his own apartment and Eva still lived at her mom's house, she ultimately decided to try and live with Chris since at her mom's she'd be alone anyways. She smiled remembering how it all started and how well it had panned out in the end. She couldn't be more grateful.

Chris walked into his apartment yelling a loud "Baby, I'm here". Eva stood up and quickly went to greet him. A long-awaited kiss between the both since they had missed each other in the morning. Chris pampered Eva with kisses telling her repeatedly how much he loved her and Eva couldn't help but blush, smile and kiss him back as many times as possible. She really had found the perfect man.

They ate lunch together, talking about their day and everything that came up. Eva had set up the special ritual that they did on every special occasion, whether it was birthdays, New Year, Christmas, or anything in general. A Marvel marathon was good in any situation. They watched movies the whole afternoon while cuddling and giving each other kisses and cuddling. They really were the most cliché, lovey-dovey, American trash couple but they loved it and they were happy.

In a few months, Eva would turn eighteen and be able to live with Chris legally while attending university herself doing god knows what degree. She still had to choose what to do but she didn't stress about it too much knowing she had full support from her friends and Chris. She long-awaited the summer because they had a road trip planned with the girls and another one with Chris. 

Life was a blessing and Eva was feeling more grateful than ever. Chris on the other hand was feeling like the luckiest man in the world. Eva was a blessing, and she made life worth it.
