"Ho!" the Old Man landed with his paraglider in front of Ghirahim and Link. "My, my... it would seem we have quite the enigma here. This tower and the others just like it have erupted across the land, one after another. It's almost as though...a long-dormant power has awoken quite suddenly. If you don't mind my asking, did anything... odd occur while you were atop that tower?"

"Not anything that should concern you." Ghirahim snapped, at exactly the same time Link said, "I heard a voice."

"Well now! A voice you say? And did you recognize this voice?"

"No."

"I see. Well, that is unfortunate." the Old Man turned towards the castle. "I assume you caught sight of that atrocity enshrouding the castle. That... is Calamity Ganon. One hundred years ago, that vile entity brought the kingdom of Hyrule to ruin. It appeared suddenly and destroyed everything in its path. So many innocent lives were lost in its wake. For a century, the very symbol of our kingdom, Hyrule Castle, has managed to contain that evil. But just barely. There it festers, building its strength for the moment it will unleash its blight upon the land once again. It would appear that moment is fast approaching.

"Here, on this isolated plateau, we are surrounded on all sides by steep cliffs, with no way down. If you were to try to jump off, well... no death could be more certain. Or more foolish. If you journey to each of the four shrines on this plateau, perhaps I will lend you my paraglider."

"Paraglider?"

"Oho! Piqued your interest, have I? Yes, I didn't come soaring down here on my own feathery wings, you know!"

"I wouldn't count on you not to." Ghirahim grumbled under his breath.

The Old Man pointed to a strange mound that glowed orange. "Do you see that structure there? The one shining with the strange light? I would think such a place might house some sort of treasure, wouldn't you? Nevertheless, that is one of the shrines you're looking for."

Link nodded and took Ghirahim by the hand, this time dragging the demon along. They marched right through the bokoblin camp without so much as being suspected by its inhabitants, reaching the shrine. The name of the shrine became readily apparent in their minds, for whatever reason.

Oman Au Shrine

Link swiped the Sheikah Slate over the eye of the pedestal, and after the slate was confirmed, the doors opened with a rumble. Ghirahim sat down, earning a strange look from his companion. He sighed.

[Travel Gate registered to map.] Link ignored the Sheikah Slate.

"I can't go in there with you. I truly wouldn't be able to, and if I could it would be best off if I didn't." Ghirahim shook his head.

With a whimper, Link entered the shrine and went down the elevator. He stepped out warily, looking around. A voice echoed in his ears.

To you who sets foot in this shrine... I am Oman Au. In the name of goddess Hylia, I offer this trial.

The name of the shrine flashed in Link's mind's eye again, with something else added on.

Magnesis Trial, Oman Au Shrine

Link placed his Sheikah Slate into a pedestal he saw, and the same water that landed on the tablet at the tower fell down. He caught the brief message. Turning his attention back to the slate, he ignored the words.

[Sheikah Slate authenticated. Distilling rune.]

He checked the slate's screen.

[Magnesis: Manipulate metallic objects using magnetism. Grab onto metallic objects using the magnetic energy that pours forth from the Magnesis rune. Objects held in the magnetic snare can be lifted and moved freely. Rune extracted.]

Getting an idea, Link used the rune to move one of the metal plates on the floor. He climbed down a ladder, fought a "Guardian Scout" with a box, spent a while trying to cross the moat of water, and opened a pair of doors. He was greeted by a blue box with a shriveled body inside.

You have proven to possess the resolve of a true hero. the ghostly voice said after Link shattered the box. I am Oman Au, the creator of this trial. I am a humble monk, blessed with the sight of goddess Hylia and dedicated to helping those that seek to defeat Ganon. With your arrival my duty is now fulfilled. In the name of goddess Hylia, allow me to bestow this gift upon you... Please accept this Spirit Orb. A small sphere of light appeared in the monk's hands and flew into Link's chest. May the goddess smile upon you, Oman Au blessed him, dissolving into green spirit energy.

And Link found himself outside the shrine.
