Everything was completely normal, except for the fact that I was missing my Mum, really badly. I couldn't tell any of them that, of course not, not when they've been so kind to me. But one day, I just couldn't hide my feelings. Dad was at work - he works in a car company - and Esme was at school. I didn't go to school 'coz they thought there was no point in going to school for just a year in another country with a different curriculum.

Anyway, it was only me and Emma in the house and she was knitting something. I was sitting beside her reading a book that Mum gave me. I missed her so much, it was about 9 months since I last saw her and I was getting quite emotional for some reason. I started crying and sniffling, but then Emma noticed.
"Is the book really sad?"
She realised it wasn't 'coz of the book.
"Hey, what's wrong? Come here. Don't cry."
I told her I was missing Mum more than ever.

Then Emma wanted to show me some thing that could cheer me up.
"You know, your Dad hasn't ever forgotten you, not for a second. He'd always go to bed thinking about you. He kept all your old toys in this bag."
She showed me a black bin bag she got from the cupboard.

"He still left me and that's something I can NEVER forget. Anyway, I know he's your husband but you shouldn't stick up for him. He DID leave me."
And stupidly, out of anger, I pushed Emma down the stairs. I was angry, you can't really blame me. Can you? I guess it was really stupid.
