"Emma has to stay in the hospital for a week, just so we can do some operations to make sure there hasn't been any damage to her or the baby." The doctor said. Then Dad started worrying 'coz me and Esme were getting tired and we couldn't all stay in the hospital - that was the rule, only one person could stay.
That was was when...
"Mum! When did you come? I've been calling you again and again..."
"Hush, Dear. After the meeting, I went on my phone and found all your messages. I had to come as soon as possible and I also knew your Dad would be struggling."Mum explained.
"Thank you, Katherine." Dad whispered. ( Katherine is my Mum's name.) Mum said she'd take me and Esme home - home as in my Dad's house - and tuck us in bed. Dad asked her if she could look after us for a week and Mum said OK.By the time we got home - we went by car - me and Esme were asleep, so Mum had to carry us into the house one by one and tuck us in. When Mum put me in my bed, she whispered to me:
"I'm never gonna let you go, ever again, Gabriella..."That week we had a lot of fun, we had pancakes for breakfast almost everyday and we went out to the park a lot. But, we were all still really worried about Emma and the baby.
By the end of the week - which was yesterday - we got a call from the hospital and they said we should go visit today to get Emma home. They also said the baby was due, which was really exciting!
This morning, Mum drove me and Esme to the hospital to visit. When we got there, she said she had to do something at Dad's house and she said it with a huge smile, then Esme and Dad smiled back really enthusiastically. I was just confused and looked at Emma. Suddenly, her eye twitched and then both of them opened! We shouted for the doctor and he came rushing over. Then, Emma cried in agony.
"The baby is coming!" The doctor boomed. I'm not gonna tell you what happened then 'coz you might get a little disgusted, but..In an hour, the baby was born and it was a baby boy. Emma and Dad decided to call him Zak. Everyone was cheering, even the nurse and doctor. We then went home, and to my surprise...
"Happy Birthday, Gabriella!" Everyone screamed. I was so thrilled that tears came to my eyes. I was so worried for the past week, that I forgot about my own birthday.
Then, we all realised that little Zak had the same birthday as me! We bought a cake celebrating my birthday and Zak's birth. And here I am, writing it all down on my birthday and baby Zak's first day in this world. By the way, the cake was even better than the one we had in the garden:-)
