The rising tide had started as the sky kept getting darker.
It was that unusual dark that showed the sign of storm anytime soon. Primrose felt her body swayed from side to side on the small wreckage that helped to carry her small figure on the ocean. Her tired eyes fluttered open, revealing the pair of dark brown.
She blinked many times to make herself more awake and aware of her surroundings. She knew that she was in trouble the moment her body felt a stronger wave beneath her that swayed her body strenuously. Her eyes also recognized the lightning that just now occurred in the sky. Given the situation in front of her, she had to swim now whether she wanted it or not. Although it was obviously going to be hard to swim faster to the small island, she had to make it.
She slowly let go of the airplane wreckage that had been a great help for her before swimming to the island. During her slumber state, she thought that the ocean did some favor to her by making her afloat closer to the island, it was probably fifty meters long from where she was as of now.
Her feet were kicking harder to help her swam faster. It was so hard to swim with high waves surrounding her body though luckily she managed to do it with little strength left inside her.
The waves actually helped her a lot because they were heading in the same direction to the island, she wasn't against the waves. What she didn't notice was a high wave was slowly built up behind her and ready to crush her tiny figure into the depth of the ocean. She only noticed it too late as the waves already crashed her entire being. She shut her eyes tightly, inadvertently inhaled the saltwater inside her respiratory system. Her body was squirming underneath the ocean with her arms and feet flailing, helping her to reach the surface again. She needed to let the saltwater out of her lungs that now feeling burned after the incident.
She coughed for few times once her head was upon the ocean and inhaled the oxygen as much as she could furiously. She began swimming again as she didn't have any little time to relax unless she neared the small island. It wasn't long before her figure finally landed on the grainy sand of the island. With the second high wave crashing behind her, it sent her body immediately straight over there easily.
The feeling of heavy fatigue engulfed her body once again but she scooted a little bit higher on the island by crawling with both of her weak arms to avoid the waves behind her. She only hoped that there wasn't any tsunami coming in a short time to this island or she would never make it. She was sure of it if it is to happen.
The woman slowly closed her eyes again letting her exhaustion took over her body despite sensing the drop of rain slowly poured down on the earth and especially hitting her body.
She couldn't make herself care for any moment although she knew she would get sick later on.
